[SG EATS] USHER IN THE YEAR OF MONKEY WITH TIEN COURT | COPTHORNE KING’S HOTEL

I have the opportunity to attend the Chinese New Year tasting dinner menu at Tien Court that serves contemporary Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine at Copthorne King’s Hotel last week. Tien Court’s masterchef, Taipei-born Ho Tien Tsai has been around for more than 20 years. He is also known as the celebrity chef that appeared in Singapore local (Mediacorp) programme productions.I was ushered to a private room to join the other invited guests for the session upon arrival.

Tien Court has so much to offer for dine in and takeaway customers for this prosperous and bountiful Year of the Monkey. It is available for dine-in or takeaway from 11 January till 22 February 2016.

We began our session with Yu Sheng for the prosperity toss. If sashimi is not your cup of tea, you can request to change for crispy fish skin. The Prosperity Salmon Yu Sheng is available for takeaway in 2 sizes- Medium (S$48.00) and Large (S$68.00).

I would strongly recommend giving this a try. The soup is boiled for at least 8 hours and this makes the broth rich and creamy. What I enjoyed most was the chewy and collagenous texture of shark cartilage soup. You can always request for fish maw soup if you do not take shark fin.

Another dish recommended for Chinese New Year menu in Tien Court is the sautéed lobster with foie gras. Creative creation dish when east meets west. Flavourful taste of foie gras coated over the firm and succulent texture of the lobster meat.

Pen Cai known as basin vegetables are available for takeaway in 2 sizes as well – Medium (S$298.00) and Large (S$488.00). Be pampered with the premium ingredients served on this big pot that includes abalone, fish maw, sea cucumber, conpoy, mushrooms, dried oysters and more.

If Pen Cai cannot fill your stomach, steamed glutinous rice is available for takeaway as well. This comes with 3 sizes- Small (S$32.80) , Medium (S$42.80) and Large (S$52.80). Flavoursome and aromatic dish to enjoy with family members.

Desserts

Lastly, we had Snow Pear with Red Wine (红酒雪梨) and Nian Gao (年糕) for our desserts. A bite of the snow pear gives a juicy sweetness taste of the fruit and red wine.And the nian gao is not overly sticky at all. There are also fruits in cubes form on the middle of the plating to cleanse our palate as well.
