[SG EATS] OLD VS NEW REVAMPED ELLENBOROUGH MARKET CAFÉ | SWISSOTEL MERCHANT COURT
Ellenborough Market Café was closed for a total revamp is now back with its new look. I was there with the foodies to check out the place last week. If you have been following my blog, I have been to Ellenborough Market Café for few times. You can read and look at the previous design of the café here and here.
So, I am sharing my dining experience of OLD vs NEW Ellenborough Market Café in this post. Here you go:-
1. BOLDER & CLASSIER INTERIOR
So, the new Ellenborough Market Café has a bolder dining hall with its vibrant turquoise interior, accented with sparkling diamond-cut glass wall features, a touch of class with their lilac mezzanine, complete with a restored stained-glass skylight. It is a modern interpretation of Straits Chinese, or Peranakan, heritage. The whole interior is so much brighter and bigger with the lightings as well.
2. NEW APPOINTED EXECUTIVE CHEF LOUIS TAY
The Peranakan style buffet restaurant also delights the diners with the new appointment of Executive Chef Louis Tay, who had overseen the daily operations and contributed to designing of the dining experience at Ellenborough Market Café, Crossroads Bar and Blue Potato Restaurant. The celebrity chef and a committee member of the Singapore Chefs Association have 33 years of culinary experience will surely delight your taste buds and palate.
3. NEW CREATIONS
Diners can expect new food creations such as roast beef carving, la mian noodle made fresh on the spot and homemade mochi. You can expect more surprises when you dine in.
4. NEW LIVE STATIONS

As compared with previous setup, I prefer the NEW version. There are live station for the La Mian master to display his skills, chef who did the seafood grilling and muah chee prepared freshly for diners onsite. This is definitely an eye-catching experience to delight your visuals.
5. SIGNATURE DISHES REMAINS
And of course some of the signature dishes remain unchanged. I can still have my free-flow durian pengat at the dessert counter. Stir fried slipper lobsters in black bean sauce is remain as hot picks for the buffet. Nyonya cuisines include ayam buah keluak and babi pongteh are still in the buffet menu.
With a new revamped look, the restaurant is ready to welcome the diners with new dining experience with them.
