Paradise Inn offers traditional Chinese inn concept with contemporary oriental ambience. The brand itself has recently undergone a brand revamp and rebranded as Paradise Classic. Paradise Classic focuses on classic Nanyang style cuisines which is ideal for family meals and big group gathering.
The new menu offers a traditional repertoire with a wider spread of dishes inspired by the cooking from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Early immigrants from China brought with them the knowledge of traditional Chinese dishes when they moved to the Nanyang and over time, these dishes have been greatly influenced by the availability of ingredients and spices locally and evolved into today’s Nanyang style Chinese cuisine.
So, let’s check out what they offer for this new menu:
Paradise Starter Combination S$7.80 per portion
Refreshing with tones of sweet and sour taste from the pickled fruits and vegetables. The interplay of crunchy guava, juicy cherry tomato and smooth-textured pumpkin. It’s pretty good to kick start the meal.
Crisp-fried Dried Fish Tossed with Sweet and Spicy Sauce S$6.80 per portion
Additive, crispy , sweet and spicy balance of the appetiser.
Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Chinese Herbs S$24.80 per pot
A nourishing pot of goodness in it with flavourful of herbs in it. There are seven Chinese herbs include solomon’s seal, Chinese angelica root, licorice root and etc with kampong chicken and simmered for more than 4 hours. Thus, this explains why the broth tasted so rich in flavour.
Espresso Chicken S$13.80 (S)
We usually have coffee glaze with pork ribs but Paradise Classic served it with chicken instead. What makes it more unique is that they uses tender chicken thigh to serve which is easy to eat and enjoy.
Stewed Silver Needle Noodle with Salted Fish in Claypot S$13.80 (S)
Salted fish is steamed before hot oil is drenched over to bring out the extra fragrance. It is served in a small saucer with lime juice and the salted fish paste will only be added into the dish by the service staff at the dining table upon lifting the claypot lid. Yums and indeed a comfort dish to order especially on rainy days.
Steamed Fish Head with Spicy Bean Sauce S$22.80 per portion
The steamed fish head goes pretty well with the homemade spicy bean sauce specially concocted using over 15 ingredients.
Stir-fried French Bean with Preserved Turnip and Dried Sakura Ebi S$13.80 (S)
This is rather unique because they served with dried sakura ebi instead of anchovies that we usually have. The dried sakura ebi has the crisp and crunchy texture which is appealing to the dish.
Braised Tofu with Crystal Prawns in Claypot S$18.80 (S)
One of the signature dish since the early beginnings.
Pork Ribs with Bitter Gourd S$13.80 (S)
If you love bitter gourd, you will enjoy the dish. Juicy pork ribs paired it with the crunchy bitter gourd. The bitterness taste isn’t that obvious as the black bean sauce balance it well.
Trio Layered Osmanthus Pandan Cake S$4.20 per portion
Coconut milk, pandan and osmanthus jelly all come together and created a beautiful layering of visual pleasure.
Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade S$3.80 per portion
