[SG EATS] MORSELS- THE TAPAS-STYLE FUSION CUISINE IN DEMPSEY ROAD | SINGAPORE

So Eric and I went for dinner hunting last weekend again. This time we visited Morsels located at 25 Dempsey Road for dinner. Morsels is initially located in Little India before they moved here. The restaurant is located just behind Long Beach Seafood Restaurant to give you a general idea where it is. We were lost when the taxi driver dropped us in front of Long Beach Seafood Restaurant and called the restaurant for clarification.

The interior design of Morsel gives a cosy and quaint home living concept. There is an open kitchen concept where we can see the chef and staffs on action.

Here is what we ordered for our dinner that night which took approximately an hour time to serve, take picture and eat.

Wild-Caught Seasonal Fish Ala Plancha S$30.00++
Morsels-Wild caught seasonal fish ala pancha
The fish served with muichoy olive tapenade, galangal rockmelon puree and Chinese mustard and pickle rind. We find tad the fish is salty though.

Seared Slow-cooked Duck Breast S$35.00++

The dish serves with yuzu white chocolate sauce, eryngii mushrooms, crispy scratchings and fennel kimchee at the side.

Grilled Octopus Risotto S$28.00++

Morsels-Grilled Octopus Risotto-1
The signature dish from Morsels which we personally think we can get better ones. The grilled octopus is nicely done but the risotto is lacking of soft and fluid texture.

Matcha White Chocolate S$14.00++
Morsels-Matcha White Chocolate
Ball-shaped matcha white chocolate served on top of the spiced bubur terigu, bubur terigu puffs and raspberry shrub. I think this is the best among the dishes I tried. An appealing presentation with good combination of ingredients on the palate.

Total bill is S$125.95 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST. We bought the S$100 voucher through chope which costs us S$90.00 and use it to foot our bill. So, we end up paying S$25.95 cash on the spot.

Thanks to Chope promotion, we get to save 10% from the total bill. Morsels just like the name itself serve small plates so you might be hungry after the meal because we did. We headed to Din Tai Fung for second round to satisfy our tummy. And yeah hits and misses at Morsels I would say.
