Sky22 by Courtyard Marriott launches Penang Street Food Fare Dinner Buffet specially curated by Penang native and Executive Chef John Chye. The buffet is also part of the “Your Culinary Affair” , a 10 day food fest from 15 – 24 June 2018.
Before I share further about the buffet, let me explain further about Your Culinary Affair.
Your Culinary Affair (www.YourCulinaryAffair.com), launched by Marriott International, is an interactive digital platform that consolidates the latest happenings, offerings and rewards across 17 of its restaurants in Singapore. Inviting diners to experience their personal love affair with food, the platform is driven by initiatives including the Culinary Matchmaker, a diner profiling quiz and Your Culinary Restaurant Week. Diners will discover an extensive range of dining experiences in a new, engaging and rewarding way, perfectly matched to their personal tastes.
Upon visiting the digital platform, the Culinary Matchmaker will lead diners to discover their culinary profile from one of five profiles – Adventurer, Classicist, Fun Lover, Hands On Artist, and Sophisticated-and be matched with the restaurants that share the same profile. Each of the featured restaurants are also matched to a culinary profile, and for Sky22 – Hands On Artist.
Enough said. Moving on are what to expect from the buffet fare:
The ethnic delights inluding Nyonya Kueh Pie Tee, Popiah, Roti Canai, Oyster Omelette, Loh Bak (5-spice pork roll wrapped in beancurd skin), Nyonya Sambal Tumis Udang, Penang Char Kway Teo and Chef John’s signature Penang Laksa.
And check out the Penang Rojak station where you can DIY your own rojak ingredients.
Lok-Lok (skewers) station where you can select the ingredients of your choice. The staff will then prepare it on the spot for you.
There is also seafood live station during dinner buffet. Diners can opt for the Sambal Tiger Prawns or BBQ Stingray in Banana Leaf or both!
And of course the dessert station where you get to indulge in freshly fried Pisang Goreng, Pandan Jelly, Penang Muah Chee and crispy Ban Chang Kuih (Peanut pancake). All these are definitely full of flavours and old school delights. It is hard to find such kueh in Singapore so make sure you try them.
