Time flies and it has been a year since my last post about PUTIEN DUOTOU Clams. King of the Clams, DUOTOU Clams are back from April till 31st July 2019. Diners can get to enjoy seasonal dishes during these period which is directly harvested from the farm and freshly flown in from the coastal town of Putian City.There are 8 different dishes made up from the clams. Instead of the same dishes like last year, there are two new spicy flavours.
Stir-fried Sambal Chives with DUOTOU Clam (NEW) S$22.80++
It is prepared with generous heap of chives and sambal for South-East Asian flavour and best to go with a bowl of white rice. This is what locals enjoy the most.
Thai-flavoured DUOTOU Clam (NEW) S$21.80++
The clams are tossed in a homemade Thai sauce made with six different fruits and vegetables. It is more like a appetiser dish with spicy and sour flavours in it.
Baked DUOTOU Clam on Hot Plate S$21.80++
If you prefer original flavour, go for this. Clams are served steaming hot on a bed of sea salt. Gently dip a piece of the fresh clam onto the slab of sea salt to try. Alternatively, just enjoy it without the sea salt. Spot the different taste experience.
Steamed DUOTOU Clam with Minced Garlic S$19.80++
These lightly steamed half-shelled clams topped with generous amount of minced garlic, spring onions and drizzled of soy sauce to complete the taste. It gives more flavour to the sweet juicy clams.
Steamed DUOTOU Clam with Wine S$22.80++
Definitely one of the favourite dish as the clams are filled to the brim in a bowl and steamed with traditional Chinese wine, Huadiao. The taste of clams infused into the alcoholic broth is definitely flavourful. Most elderly will definitely love this!
