SO/ Singapore’s Executive Chef Hong Dingzhao has joined forces with Miznon’s Chef Or Hakmimi to bring you Israeli cuisine and an Omakase dining concept. ‘Jaffa at SO/’is an exlusive event, running for 2 weeks only from 15th to 28th April 2021 at SO/ Singapore’s Xperience Restaurant.
This exclusive set menu priced at S$59.00++ per pax for lunch and S$79.00++ per pax for dinner. The set menu includes 2 skewers per pax, a huge spread of mezze, dips & salads to share, plus a pitcher of house-made lemonade or soda.
Here are the snippets of spread my friend and I had during the preview session. We started off with the huge spread of mezze, dips and salads to share. We thought we are having “banchan” –small side dishes served along with cooked rice in Korean cuisine. I was so excited that Miznon pitas are served too. Their pitas, flatbreads are pillowy and fluffy and i enjoyed mixing all the dips and salads to pair with it.
Moving on are the Israelli BBQ where you can select from a variety of beef, lamb, chicken, duck, fish, seafood & vegetarian skewers. My personal favourites are the grilled BBQ chicken and lamb. Each ingredients are well-marinated or spice rub on the grill. Umami indeed! We also dipped it with the dips for extra flavour!
Complete your meal with mixologist’s refreshing cocktail series. Cocktail choices include Watermelon Lady S$18++, Arak Limonana S$20.00++, Date Julep S$20.00++ and Streets of Jerusalem S$22.00++. Wine options are available with separate pricing as well.
Lastly, we had Malabi S$10.00++ to mark the end of the meal. The Israeli panna cotta made from milk and cream, rose water, raspberry, crushed peanuts and roasted coconut. Creamy, tangy and sweetness from the rose water and crunchy bites from crushed peanuts for extra texture to the dessert.
