Pompompurin Café located at Orchard Central is the first Sanrio character café in Singapore followed by Hello Kitty Café at Changi Airport. When the café first opened, many queued for hours for it. Froth has moved to Ascott Raffles Place sometime back and this is my second time visiting time here. [SG EATS] CASA TARTUFO- HOMELY FEEL ITALIAN RESTAURANT AT SCARLET HOTEL

E and I went food hunting over the weekend and decided to check out the Italian restaurant, Casa Tartufo. Casa Tartufo is located in the Scarlet Hotel, a quaint boutique hotel within a walking distance from Outram Park and Telok Ayer MRT station. Casa Tartufo specialized in fungus, truffles which exactly fit the name of the restaurant. We made a reservation via CHOPE and it was a quiet Saturday night at the restaurant. [SG EATS] NEW UBIN SEAFOOD @ SIN MING – NEW PLACE IN NOVEMBER 2016

New Ubin Seafood is going to move to their new location at HillView Avenue mid of November 2016 and we decided to visit their current location at Sin Ming for birthday celebration. We made a reservation and were given 2 hours time frame to dine in. New Ubin Seafood started of from a restaurant Pulau Ubin’s north shore with the kampong-style décor. They are listed in Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand Guide 2016 and since then more and more people visiting the place. [PENANG EATS] TOH SOON CAFÉ – OLD SCHOOL COFFEESHOP LEBUH CAMPBELL

Toh Soon Café located at Lebuh Campbell has become one of the must-visit place when you are in Penang. I visited them in year 2014 and 2 years later I am back again with my friends. The shop is located in a narrow alley (lorong in Malay language) and is a walking distance to Penang street art mural. As compared with my visit 2 years back, Toh Soon has become more popular and securing the seat is getting harder too. CANDLENUT – WORLD’S FIRST MICHELIN-STARRED PERANAKAN RESTAURANT OPENS AT COMO DEMPSEY







 Candlenut opens at COMO Dempsey on 1 November 2016. It is the first of four dining establishments to open at COMO Dempsey. Housed in a 4,262-sq ft restaurant, it has an expanded seating capacity of 92, including an eight-seat private room perfect for intimate dinners or casual business lunches, and an al fresco dining area which seats 20. Candlenut, the world’s first Michelin-star Peranakan restaurant by chef Malcolm Lee sets to indulge diners with more than 40 appetisers, mains and desserts from the a la carte menu for lunch and dinner.

What to expect from this new place?
Candlenut continues to serve up contemporary Peranakan cuisine that preserves the essence and complexities of traditional food with astute twists that lift the often rich dishes to a different level.
Favourites from Candlenut’s signature Peranakan Ah-ma-kase dinner tasting menu- Red Lion Snapper Fillet with Black Green Mango and Ginger Flower and the King Tiger Prawn with fresh chilli sambal and charred garlic chives are now available on the a la carte menu.

Prices range from S$12.00 for Homemade Kueh Pie Tee to S$36.00 for Buah Keluak Wagyu Beef Short Ribs.




There are 10-course tasting menu for dinner at S$78.00 as well.
