Miyakori Coffee is the latest café addition by foot in Johor Bahru. Their first outlet was located at Bukit Indah with cute theme interior design and menu. Congrats on the second outlet expansion and it is located just inside City Square Shopping mall. It’s an ideal location to have crowds coming in from Singapore. Miyakori Coffee is located at level 5 of the mall with a nice clean white furbished design. There are only coffee, tea, pastries and cakes available in this outlet. Finally I got my hands on Oddies Foodies during my Hong Kong trip on December 2015. Oddies has opened a new branch on Gough Street, Sheung Wan recently and of course I headed to that direction. This new outlet has spacious seating area as compared to their first outlet at Wan Chai. I was there around 12 noon with my cousins and aunt. Surprisingly, there was no customer in the shop. I spent few days in JB on the last week of December 2015 and my dad recommended me to Ayam Goreng Dapur Kayu which is a short drive from our home. “Ayam Goreng” is referring to fried chicken in Malay language. What triggers me to post about this place is that the fried chicken here are prepared traditionally with firewood. “Kayu” means wood in Malay language. The stall has been in business for 40 years and currently is taken over by the second generation. Even my parents visited this stall for their fried chicken during the earlier days. Finally! I tried the famous HaiDiLao last week with my foodie friends. HaiDiLao is known with their excellent service, quality foods and long waiting time. We tried to call to make reservation for the outlet at 313 Somerset but it is not allowed. Thus, one of the group, Nikki went around 4pm to secure the dinner table for 7pm. 海底捞火锅 HaiDiLao is a popular restaurant chain in China with origins in Sichuan since 1994. Alfero Gelato was crowned the Best Ice-cream Parlour by RAS Epicurean Star Award Singapore 2015. Gelatos from Alfero Gelato are made with free-range fresh milk, egg yolk and other fresh quality ingredients. They serve 96% FAT FREE gelatos. I have tried their gelatos before and I am loving it. Halia is known as ginger in Malay language. The Halia restaurant provides a modern European cuisine with slight twist of Asian flavours dining experience. I was at their first restaurant located at Singapore Botanic Gardens last week. The restaurant has recently revamped with a new dining experience. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas with more spacious and comfortable seating place for diners to sit back and immerse into the nature beauty in the garden.
