[TAIWAN EATS] Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 – The Famous Unagi Restaurant In Taipei (Not Worth Queuing)

I am back to Taipei, Taiwan on the last week of December 2018 for a short gateway and visited Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 for dinner. Fei Qian Wu 肥前屋 is known for its famous unagi don or unadon in Taipei. The restaurant is established over 50 years ago by a Taiwanese-Japanese family. We were there around 4.20pm and started to queue for early dinner. We were 2nd in line and the restaurant is open for dinner at 5pm. So, yeah! We queued for 40 minutes for this. We made our way to Pokemon Café at Nihonbashi for our lunch but it was fully reserved. In fact, the whole month of December is fully booked. So, if you are heading there, please make your reservation to avoid any disappointment. So, we saw this old Showa building that caught our attention. Menya Kokoro, the largest authentic Maze-Soba restaurant chain from Japan opens its first ever outlet in Singapore. The popular chain has opened 27 outlets around the world ( Japan, Indonesia, Spain, Thailand and Vancouver) in just 4 years! Amazing!

The founder, Chef Takuma Ishikawa, who has 13 years of culinary experience is trained under the original masters and creators of Maze-Soba- Menya Hanabi (the restaurant known for inventing Maze-Soba and introducing to the world). Hokkaido-Ya located at Vivocity Mall is a fast casual eatery serving Hokkaido-inspired dishes. Sushi Tei Pte Ltd is the team behind this new establishment. Hokkaido-Ya , which translates to Hokkaido-shop has an adorable mascot, Ezo modelled after ezo momonga (Japanese dwarf flying squirrel) sculpture in front of the shop entrance.
