My foodie friends wanted to explore Johor Bahru (JB) over the weekend. Thus, we planned a weekend trip across the causeway a month ago. The reason being is that the train tickets are selling like hotcakes. We need to ensure that we are able to secure the train tickets back from Johor Bahru on Sunday evening. Cheot Nun Korean Dessert Café was opened late last year (2016) and I have visited the place 2nd time including my recent visit. The Korean Dessert Café located next to Sprout (fine dining restaurant) and a short distance from City Square JB & Komtar Mall. You can take a cab, uber or grab here with less than RM8. I wouldn’t advise you to walk even though it is a walking distance from CIQ. I think I should include this in my Johor Food By Foot Guide listing. Sugar On Top (SOT) has another new theme café called The Hare at Taman Mount Austin. They have been aggressively expanding their outlet around Johor Bahru. How many SOT have you been up to date? My last visit to Palladium was last year and the café was just a pop-up café. But Palladium Café has recently revamped with bigger space of indoor and outdoor seating. As most of you familiar with Jay Chou’s music video 手寫的從前,the glass house café exterior is inspired from there. Thus, you can see many people taking photos of it. EH HE Café along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee first started out last year with their unique coffee story concept under Just Want Coffee (JWC) and later on closed for a renovation for few months before they open with new concept. I visited the place twice since last December 2015 after it is being revamped. EH HE Art Café is no longer collaborating with JWC and has come up with their own concept of foods and drinks. The café is just located next to Hiap Joo Bakery for easy reference. Continue reading [JB EATS] EH HE ART CAFÉ (中間旁邊) AT JALAN TAN HIOK NEE
An addition hipster café along Jalan Dhoby, Johor Bahru was spotted. Flowers in the Window Cafe (just opposite The Replacement Lodge & Kitchen) is from the team behind The Roost Café, Bev C and Sea & Saw. The team has never failed to impress with their interior designs of the café. Each café has their own individualistic that never draws the attention of caféhoppers. As for Flowers in the Window, the café focuses on flowery theme. As you step into the café, you can feel the rustic and contemporary designs with flowery as the main focus. This-storey café is truly an instagram-worthy place for instagrammers. I kid you not. Continue reading [JB EATS] FLOWERS IN THE WINDOW-INSTAWORTHY CAFE | JALAN DHOBY
