[SG EATS] DINE IN WITH SPRIGS BISTRO | 12 PURVIS STREET

It was a Saturday night dinner when my foodie partner and I were deciding what’s for dinner. As I scrolled through The Entertainer App, Sprigs Bistro is in the list. We were around City Hall area and decided to go for it. Sprigs Bistro is located in between City Hall MRT & Bugis MRT station. You can reach the restaurant within few minutes walking distance.Sprigs Bistro also offers 2-course lunch set ranging from S$14.90+ to S$24.90+  with a glass of iced tea during weekdays to attract the working crowds nearby. And I had it before sometime back and the pan-seared salmon was thick and good.

We started off with the complimentary bread each person one piece after placing our order.

STARTER

Flame torched Hokkaido Scallops (100g) S$22.00Sprigs Bistro Purvis Street

The starter is nicely flame torched scallops along with the pardon peppers, miso and cress in skewer style. The miso was not overwhelming and it retains the sweetness of the scallops.

MAINS

Line Caught Black Cod S$40.00Sprigs Bistro Purvis Street-1

I went ‘wow’ when it was served on the table. It was generous servings of bonito sauce and flakes all over the plating and the cod fish was nicely executed. The sides, Chinese Kale with pommes sauted with the sauce bonito gives a taste of Asian twist in it.

New Zealand Rack of Lamb S$38.00Sprigs Bistro Purvis Street- 2

My choice of the night and I am in loved with it. The rack of lamb was sous vide and served with aubergine caviar, pommes sauté and au jus. The meat was done medium rare and the tenderness of the meat so soft that I can easily cut it. It tasted juicy enough to eat by its own but if you want to enhance the flavour, go with the aubergine caviar which has the chilli spices in it.

Chocolate Ni-Cuit S$12.00Sprigs Bistro Purvis Street- 3

Chocolate lava cake with yuzu and pomelo was our choice of dessert to marks the end of the meal. The lava cake was rich and solid chocolate that I enjoyed it without feeling guilty for having more than a mouth. It goes pretty well with the yuzu flavour and pomelo bites to give a bit of bitterness flavour in it.

Total bill was S$81.40 inclusive of 10% service charge and using The Entertainer App (Save S$38.00).
