So I invited my friends for dinner at Jumbo Grill which is located within a walking distance from Rochor MRT Station. Jumbo Grill is only few months old and they specialize in skewers and barbecued foods. They are working on creating their own unique and distinctive taste flavours to customers.


Jumbo Grill specializes skewers with 3 different flavours –yakitori, Korean gochujang and szechuan at this moment. The skewers are freshly grilled and coated with flavours upon ordering. Thus, the waiting time is approximately 20 minutes.
Here are some of the skewers coated with the 3 flavours we tried that night:
1. Prawn Red Leg
2. Shittake mushrooms
3. Chicken Mid Joints
4. Pork Ribeye
5. Pork Belly
6. Shish Beef Kebab
7. Bacon wrapped with cherry tomatoes
8. Bacon wrapped asparagus
9. Lamb skewers
10. Beef skewers
11. Grilled Squids

There are mixtures of different flavours coated and we left it to the chef to decide on flavours. One of Jumbo Grill signature selling point is that they prepare their own sauces- peanut satay and thai chilli. I enjoyed the taste of the thai chilli especially when I dipped the grilled squids into the sauce. The in-house made thai chilli sauce compliments well with the skewers.

Having said so, the skewers are marinated with flavours. Thus, having it without sauce is also not bad. Pair them with a bottle of beer and chill with friends are indeed an indulgence.

If you ask me what are my favourite skewers here? It would be the pork belly, bacon wrapped with cherry tomatoes and the grilled lamb. I enjoyed how the cherry tomatoes burst into my mouth the moment I had them with the bacon. Also, the pork belly and grilled lamb are well-marinated and I can just have it without the sauce.
As for the price range, it is priced from S$2.00/stick onwards and it is also available in sets. You can check out their menu from their official website.

If there is one thing to feedback is that I wish the place has air-con. The owner did feedback that there are some complication of matters regards to the installation of air-con at the restaurant.Ok la still not so bad because fans are available at every part of the restaurant.
