[SG EATS] Auntie’s Wok And Steam of Alley On 25 | Andaz Singapore

The newly opened Andaz Singapore introduces six dining concepts called Alley on 25. The different dining concepts is located on the 25th floor that includes Auntie’s Wok & Steam, Smoke & Pepper, Plancha’ Lah!, The Green Oven , Icehaus and Bar Square. I have not visited all concepts during the media tasting trails.

So, I am back on my second visit to Auntie’s Wok and Steam over the weekend to check out the food. My dinner partner, E was quite excited to check out the place especially the beautiful view from the 25th floor.

We reached the restaurant around 12 noon and we were the first customer at that timing. The staffs are approachable and friendly too. We get to choose our seating area and slowly browse through the menu before deciding our meal.

The view from the restaurant.
E was telling me that if it has the Mount Fuji view, it would be perfect. So I drew it just like this. Do you agree?

Anyway, here are the dishes we ordered:
Kurobuta Pork Chop S$30.00++

The kurobuta pork chop is tender, juicy and packed with flavour served with kalian and pickled turnip.

Kong Pao Chicken S$25.00++

We are warned for its spiciness when we ordered. But surprisingly the spicy level isn’t that spicy after all. It was quite a generous portion served with cashew nuts and mixed peppers considering only two of us having it.

Organic Fried Rice S$18.00++

Fragrant white & brown rice cooked with crab meat, egg, asparagus and Sarawak pepper.

Mao Tai Chocolate Ice-cream S$18.00++

Cold sweetness of black sesame tuille ice-cream with mao tai served at the side. We were so excited that we poured the whole thing into the ice-cream. Oh boy! Wait till you dig towards the end. We instantly recognized the smell immediately and it has the sharp and pungent smell. The liquor sets my throat ablaze and it goes pretty well with the dark black sesame ice-cream.

Total bill was S$107.11 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST. We had a pleasant meal with kind hospitality from the staffs. The foods here remind me of the similarity of Blue Lotus – Chinese Grill House. Both have the modern contemporary Chinese cuisine which gives a nice twist. As much as we enjoyed the food, the price is quite steep though. However, considering the ambience and atmosphere of the place, it is still worth it.
