Food Capital at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel has reopen on 20 November with an a la carte Buffet Riverside Barbecue theme. The buffet spread has an extensive menu of more than 50 choices of meat, seafood, vegetables, desserts as well as local, Japanese, Western and Indian delicacies. Guests can choose to dine indoors or al fresco dining, where tables outdoors facing the Singapore River.
There are food stations and show kitchens showcasing the buffet spreads in a circular atrium. However, due to current Covid-19 situation, guests are not allow to take from the station. Orders are to made using the order chit on the respective tables. The service crew will assist and process the order accordingly.
Seafood on Ice is a must-have item in buffet spread. Seafood items includes New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel, Cherry Clam, Chilled Tiger Prawn, Fresh Oyster and Whole Cooked Crawfish. The items are available on a rotational basis.
For the Barbecue items, there will be free flow servings of Live Prawn Skewer, Sirloin Steak, Lamb Cutlet, Pork Belly, Chicken Drumstick, Fish Otah, Spicy Sotong and Green Mussels. The chargrilled meats are drizzled with special in-house sauces – Malabar Black Pepper Sauce, Smokey BBQ Sauce or Sambal Chilli Cincalok.
As for Japanese section, we also ordered fresh sashimi cuts that include Salmon, Tuna and Squid Abalone. Fresh tempuras like prawns, enoki mushroom, sweet potato and egg plants are prepared upon request. There is also Cold Soba Noodle with Quail Egg and Japanese Pickle in Yuzu Dressing.
If you are into Indian Cuisine, check out their Fresh Naan Baked in the Tandoor Oven, Mutton Stew with Lentils and Spices and Tandoori Chicken with Mint Sauce.
Indulge in Western delights with Penne Pasta with Lobster Bisque, Salmon with Sauteed Green and Tomato Salsa.
And not forgetting Asian local delights that include the all-time favourite Grand Copthorne Laksa, Wok-fried Clam with Chilli Crab Sauce and Deep-fried Mantou. Laksa is definitely one of my recommended dish to try here.
Lastly, check out their desserts selection including warm Waffle served with Ice-cream upon request, house-made Chilled White Fungus Soup with Red Dates, Mango Pudding with Pomelo, Rich Chocolate Fountain with strawberries, marshmallows and cookies.
