[JB TRAVEL]HOW TO GET TO KSL CITY MALL FROM JB CUSTOM CHECK POINT?
Ever since the currency rate is 1: 3 , there is a drastic increase of human traffic daily from Singapore checkpoint to Malaysia checkpoint. Many took the option via public transport CW1, SBS 170 / 160 , 950 etc to cross the causeway. So, other than cafehopping by foot and shopping malls next to JB checkpoint, KSL shopping mall is another option. There is KSL Hotel & Resorts for a weekend staycation.
There are few options to get to KSL from JB checkpoint. Thus, I am sharing in this post and hope it is useful for you guys.
After clearing the JB CIQ Complex (JB custom) , follow the signs direction to JB Sentral. After 2 escalators, you will see the signboard shown on this photo. The escalator is on the left and it is before Starbucks. Follow the escalator down to the bus terminal. Upon reaching below, you will see many buses on your left side. All the buses travel within different parts of Johor Bahru. So, look out the following bus numbers mentioned below to reach your destination.
WHICH BUS TO KSL CITY MALL?
1. Bus S1 by Causeway Link
Bus Fare: RM1.50 ~ (S$0.50)
Pick up point & Alighting Point: Same location facing residential housing.
Here is the bus schedule for S1 which is shown at the entrance of KSL mall.
You can gauge your timing spend in the mall before heading back to JB Sentral. The Bus will stop at the entrance of the mall for approximately 20 minutes time. Since there are many entrances in the mall, look out for the entrance next to Coffee Bean or Jco Donuts located at Level G (ground floor). The bus also travels to Danga City Mall , Holiday Plaza and other areas.
You can find out more information about Bus S1 here
2. Bus IM17 by Maju Bus Company
Bus Fare: RM1.50 ~ (S$0.50)
Pick up & Alighting Point: In front of KSL City Mall and opposite shophouses.
Look out for the bus IM17 at JB sentral and the bus can take you to the destination. This bus has shorter bus route as compared to bus S1. The bus stopped right in front of the main entrance of the KSL Mall.
OTHER PUBLIC TRANSPORT
BY TAXI/ CAB
If you think bus waiting time is too long, you can always opt for taxi. Some taxi does not go by meter and they charge by rate. The rate range from JB sentral to KSL is between RM6.00 –RM10.00. It would be best if you manage to hop on the cab with meter running to save cost. The cheapest cab fare that I took to KSL was RM6.00. The travelling distance via cab services was only 5-10 minutes time provided there is no jam.
Alternatively, if you have friends driving, it would save you the trouble to take public transport. However, the buses are clean and convenient for those who seek for cheaper options.
NOTE: The buses in Malaysia sometimes doesn’t stop at the same spot. Thus, do keep a lookout and ask around. There are many bus conductors around calling names of the places.
