[KOREA TRAVELS] 5 Reasons Why You Must Visit Garosu-Gil When You Are In Seoul

During my recent trip to Seoul, I went exploring Garosu-Gil and fall in love with this place. Garosu-Gil is an area in Sinsa-dong,Gangnam-gu,Seoul. This area is known for its galleries, restaurants, bars, cafes, boutiques and art design bookshops. This hipster street has so much inspiration from architecture to fashion and many more.

Here are 5 reasons why you must visit this place when you are in Seoul :
1.Cafe Hopping

Seoul is also cafe Paradise for those who love cafe hopping. Apart from the chains of coffee cafes, there are many interesting cafes themes & concepts sprouting every part of the city. If you are going to explore Garosu-Gil for a day, you can check out some of the cafes there. Cafes include Skinfood Cafe, Mr Holmes Bakehouse, Osulloc Green Tea House and many more. I only managed to explore part of it.So go explore the place with your friends!

2.#OOTD Spots Everywhere

My travel mates and I love this place because every part of the place is instagram-worthy. Be it the shopfront or cafes and even along the streets are #ootd spots. We even brought extra set of outfits for photo shoots.

3.Fashion Paradise
Garosu-gil Korea Shopping
Garosu-Gil is known as fashion spots where you can see international Brands and Korea’s home-grown labels here. This reminds me of Omotesando in Japan. If you are looking for inspiration for your outfits, this is a place for you. You can go for window shopping with girlfriends here too!

4.Trick Art street

Oh well.. I took a picture with Ji Chang Wook when I was in Seoul. Not the man in person but a trick art painting of him on a wall. There are quite a few series of trick art that was painted around Garosu-Gil. The Trick Art Street project is a project by the Gangnam district office and the Shinsadong local resident committee. This is to boost tourist numbers to the area especially since the Korea tourism industry was adversely affected by the MERS outbreak recent years.

5. Shop Like a Local -Not so Tourists Spot

While everyone shops and explore the usual tourists spots- Myeongdong and Hongdae, try to spend a day here in Garosu-Gil instead. Less crowded and you can shop and explore like a local here. You can also get your skincare products here as well without squeezing with others. It is much more relaxing and you can get your shopping lists done too.
