If you are wondering where I stayed during my recent Seoul trip, the answer is Hotel ShinShin. ShinShin Hotel Myeongdong is a boutique hotel with urban décor and subtle Korean elements established in the year 1964. The hotel rejuvenated in the year 2013 and features 72 modern rooms and three conceptual rooms with Korean-inspired designs.

HOTEL LOCATION
Hotel ShinShin is just 10-15 minutes walk away from Myeongdong and City Hall train station. The location is strategically situated at the places of interest for shopping and attraction places. We went Myeongdong shopping almost every night since it is situated so near to our hotel.
The location is also central and eases our travelling time from places to places. We can opt to take City Hall subway or even walk to Myeongdong for another subway line.
Apart from that, there are restaurants and convenient shops around the hotel. So, more choices for night time supper!

GETTING HERE FROM AIRPORT
If you browse through their official website, there is a list of FAQ which includes how to get to the hotel from airport. The information is clear and precise.

From INCHEON AIRPORT (Travel Time: 70min./ Interval: 20min./ Fare: Airport Bus 10,000KRW/KAL Limousine Bus 15,000KRW)
1. Please take a Airport Bus #6015 at gate 5B or 12A and get off at Namdaemun market station.
(3~5 minutes walking distance. Please cross the street through Namdaemun underground shopping center and you will find the alleyway next to Korea Bank Building)
2. Please take a KAL limousine bus at gate 4B or 11A and get off at The Plaza Hotel(rear entrance).
(5 minutes walking distance. Please cross the street and walk towards to the left until you find ‘Caffebene’ coffee shop.
It only takes about 2~3 minutes walk through the alleyway between ‘Caffebene’ coffee shop and Tailor shop to the hotel entrance.

From GIMPO AIRPORT (Travel Time: 50min./ Interval: 30min./ Fare: Airport Bus 7,000KRW)
1. International Airport, please take a bus #6021 at bus stop No.6 and get off at Namdaemun market station.
2. Domestic Airport, please take a bus #6021 at bus stop No.4 ad get off at Namdaemun market station.
(3~5 minutes walking distance across the street through Namdaemun underground shopping center and you will find the alleyway next to Korea Bank Building)

We took KAL Limousine Bus which costs us 15,000KRW per pax. You may want to take extra attention when you listen to the bus stop location announcement because the bus may not stop at every bus station/ stop. Alternatively, you can just ask the bus driver or check your google map for assurance.

HOTEL ROOM

Hotel ShinShin rooms are divided into 4 categories ( Standard, Superior, Deluxe & Suite ).We stayed at Superior Double Room with room size of 21.5m2. The room was cosy and comfortable with the king sized bed and standard amenities. The room has the business-like style and the designer fully utilizes the whole space.

The bath area is an open concept with glass panel on one side. It has blinds to cover the translucent glass view if you are not comfortable having people watching you to shower. And of course shower curtain for the bathtub. The toilet is separated next to it.

However, they do not provide toothpaste, toothbrush, spoon or fork in the room. So, if you want to have noodles for supper, you will need to prepare disposable cutleries.
The best part is that the hotel has floor heating system which is useful during winter time. This definitely keeps our legs warm.

Another point to highlight is that they also provide complimentary wifi services for individual room. There is also a Smartphone docking station in the room so that hotel guests can bring it along using the wifi services to explore the city.

HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES
Hotel Shinshin does not offer in-room dining and we booked the hotel without breakfast. Thus, we did not have the chance to try their restaurant called Dine Hall. Dine Hall is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is separated building from the hotel reception.

The hotel staffs are friendly and approachable. They have good command in English which ease the communication barriers. They also assist any issues with professionally way. I still remember that I was feeling sick and vomited at the hotel room sink on the 1st night in the hotel. Thus, it got clogged and I informed the staff the next day. The staff rectified the issue and it is back to normal. The response time was prompt and efficient too.

GETTING TO AIRPORT FROM HOTEL
AIRPORT BUS
To INCHEON AIRPORT (Travel Time: 70min./ Interval: 20min./ Fare: Airport Bus 15,000KRW)
Please take a Airport Bus #6015 at Namdaemun market station which takes approx. 2~3minute walking distance from the hotel entrance towards to right down in front of Korea Bank.
To GIMPO AIRPORT (Travel Time: 50min./ Interval: 30min./ Fare: Airport Bus 7,000KRW)
Please take a Airport Bus #6021 at Namdaemun market station which takes approx. 2~3minute walking distance from the hotel entrance towards to right down in front of Korea Bank.
By TAXI (Fare stated below may depend on traffic.)
It costs you approx. 70,000KRW by regular taxi and 90,000KRW by deluxe taxi taking an hour to INCHEON AIRPORT.
It costs you approx. 30,000KRW by regular taxi and 50,000KRW by deluxe taxi taking an 40~50min. to GIMPO AIRPORT.

We took the Airport bus and it was just few minutes walk from the hotel. You may check with the hotel receptionist on the exact location. I took a picture of the pick-up point for your reference though. We waited for 30 minutes before we can board the bus. Do take note that not all passengers are able to board at the same time due to the available seating in the bus. Bus driver will advise accordingly. Thus, so buffer your time when you are planning to take bus to the airport.

My one week stay in Hotel ShinShin was pleasant. I love the hotel location as it makes us easy to get around and explore Seoul. I would recommend staying here as the price is reasonable and affordable. This is best for couples or friends who travel together.
