[SG EATS] Celebrate Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At Mitzo Restaurant & Bar
Usher in the Year of the Ox at Mitzo Restaurant & Bar, a restaurant with a charming, stylish space studded with modern eclectics. The restaurant is located at the 4th level of Grand Park Orchard, the restaurant is easily accessible via walking distance from Orchard or Somerset MRT station.
Here are the highlights from their Chinese New Year Menu:
Start the evening with a cocktail specially created for the Lunar New Year, Poxsitive Elixir, created with Roselle Oolong tea infused with Mandarin Peel and Goji Berry, finished with dehydrated Goji Berry Powder and some fizziness for a refreshing touch. Not only does this drink look gorgeous, it delights the palate too!
Lo Hei! The only legitimate time to play with your food! We tossed our way to prosperity with the Kanpachi Kingfish Yu Sheng (reg S$128.00++/ large S$258.00++). In line with the Mitzo’s passion for cocktails, the Yu Sheng’s dressing were thoroughly mixed in a cocktail shaker bottle then, drizzled onto the Asian Salad while the server chants auspicious idioms .
Not a fan of Kanpachi Kingfish? No worries! Executive Chef Nicky Ng offers 3 other variations of Yu Sheng, namely Abalone Yu Sheng (reg S158.00++, large S$258.00++), Salmon Yu Sheng (reg S$108.00++, large S$138.00++) and Mitzo Fruit Yu Sheng (reg S$108.00++, large S$168.00++)
The umami Double Boiled Fish Maw Soup with Mushroom, Chicken and Prosciutto di Parma Ham, was simply a marvel of Cantonese brewing skills. This fortifying broth is a great for those who prefer light soups over thick, starchy ones.
Another dish light on the stomach but irresistible on the palate is the Steamed Grouper with Preserved Pork Liver, Pork Sausage and Preserved Vegetables in Soya. The fish lightly seasoned to bring out the pristine flavour of the flesh, while the punch of flavours from the preserved ingredients kept our taste buds engaged.
The intoxicating scent of Truffle hits you the second you’re within range of the Truffle Ee Fu Noodles with Scallop. I love this modern interpretation of this classic noodle dish. Oh and did I mention how huge and succulent the scallops were?
We concluded the meal with chilled Pineapple Sago Cream and Warm Yam Nian Gao Tart , a contemporary take on the Nian Gao, which are available in gift sets (8 pcs S$28.00++/box). For those who prefer something more traditional, do consider the CNY Koi Fish Nian Gao (2 pcs S$28.00++/box).
Mitzo’s Chinese New Year 2021 menu will be available till 26 February 2021. Do take note that there will be 2 seatings for CNY eve 11 February at 5:30PM and 8:00PM.
