[TRAVEL GUIDE] Travel Guide to Desaru Coast From Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal

Desaru Coast is curated as a new integrated destination resort in Malaysia with a portfolio of globally renowned hotels and resorts, namely Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, The Westin Desaru Coast Resort, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, as well as One & Only Desaru Coast. Desaru Coast is also home to Adventure Waterpark-one of the world’s biggest waterparks, Desaru Coast Conference Centre, The Els Club Desaru Coast, Ocean Course and Valley Course, and Desaru Coast Riverside.

The best part? Desaru and Singapore now have direct ferry trip to head to and from Desaru or Singapore. That means weekend trip is possible as it is so much convenient now.

I was staying at The Westin Desaru Coast Resort recently and decided to drive around Desaru Coast to explore the area. We drove to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal to check out the distance and the situation there. It is remained closed and the driving distance to hotels in Desaru Coast is around 10-15 minutes.

If you read my travel guide post to Desaru previously, tourists will have to take a ferry from Changi Ferry Terminal in Singapore to Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal. The travelling distance is approximately 30-45 minutes to Desaru upon reaching the Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal.

But with this new Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal opening, tourists can shorten the travelling time to reach to their hotel & resorts destination. The car ride will take approximately 10-15minutes depending on your choice of hotel or resort. It also also said to connect travellers from Singapore to Riau Islands of Batam, and Bintan to Desaru in future as well.

  1. Hello Hazel. Want to check with you, how to get around desaru if we were to take the ferry? Can we rent a car? or are there taxis there.

    1. Hi Ni

You can get hotel to arrange the transport for you to hotel. There is also Desaru Coast shuttle bus for hotels under Desaru Coast. Hope this clarifies..
As for grabcar, I am not sure you can get it or not but grabfood delivery is available though. I saw some hotel guests ordered during my stay there

    1. Hi Fred

You can try grab there. But If you prefer to take ferry there, I would suggest you to contact the hotel you are booking. They will usually arrange transport for you to pick up from the ferry terminal.

      Hope this helps..
