My family and I had a weekend staycation at Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel early this month. Renaissance JB is located in the district of Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru. The 5-star Renaissance JB is a lifestyle brand of Marriott International flagship in Malaysia. The hotel is designed for both business and leisure travellers.




How To Get There?
By Car
If you are coming from the 2nd link (Tuas Checkpoint), it is approximately 5 mins drive away. However, if you are driving from Woodlands Immigration Checkpoint, you will need approximately 20-30 minutes drive depending on traffic.
Shuttle Services
The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle services / pickup services from JB Sentral. There are specific timings for the pick up. Do check with the hotel when you make the hotel reservation.
By Taxi/ Grab/ Uber
I am not sure the taxi fare but if you are taking Grab/ Uber, the fare is around RM11-15 (~S$3.50~S$4.90) for off peak hours. So, do check the fare price before booking.
Alternatively, book a private city transfer from Singapore to Johor Bahru using Klook. This is best solution if you are travelling with family or big groups.

The Room
My family and I stayed at Junior Suite & Deluxe Room. It has the connecting door between the two rooms which made it so easy for big group stay. My nephews are so excited running here and there. The Junior Suite room is 69sqm of space that includes the living room, king-sized bed, walk-in wardrobe, toilet and even bathtub. It was superb cosy that we don’t mind staying in the room for all day long.

There is a welcome dessert treats upon checking in too!

Hotel Facilities
The hotel also offers 24-hours gym, sauna and also swimming pool. There is also a kid pool for the kids to swim and play with water. My dad was glad that the gym is available 24-hours because he can go down anytime he wants.

Food Places
Renaissance JB provides quite a number of dining options. This include Wan-li (The Cantonese restaurant), Café BLD, bakery Chocolate Cake Company, Club Lounge and R Bar. Since our time in Renaissance is limited, we only managed to explore Café BLD and Club Lounge. Our breakfast and dinner is at Café BLD. And the Club Lounge is exclusively for club rooms & suites guests and Club Marriott members only.
So if you are able to access to the Club Lounge, you get to enjoy Day-Long Afternoon Tea, Evening Snacks.

My family and I had our dinner at Café BLD and it is American theme buffet for this month. If you are wondering, Café BLD buffet theme changes every month. The American-themed buffet is available every Fridays and Saturdays and priced at RM99.00++ (S$32.10++) per pax and RM48.00++ (S$15.60++) for children aged 5-15 years old.

And of course breakfast is at Café BLD as well. Check out the spread I had that morning!

The whole staycation experience was great and it was my first time having staycation with my family. Everyone gathered and spend time bonding together as we are all packed with our own schedules. Thanks to this staycation, my family gets to be together for the weekend and do things together. The kids love the pool, my dad had a good gym session and the ladies including my mum had a good sauna session.

Things to Take Note:
1. Upon checking in, a certain amount of deposit is required. The deposit amount is vary depending on the hotel room amount and also the season. The deposite rate is starting from RM200 (S$65) onwards.
2. Complimentary in-room Wifi is applicable for Marriott Rewards members only.
