[SAPA TRAVEL GUIDE] How to get to Sapa from Hanoi | Vietnam

Sapa is in the northwestern mountain areas of Vietnam. It is located in the Lao Cai province, Sapa, around 320 kilometres away from Hanoi. Sapa has been one of the trekking attractions in Vietnam. Tourists are awe by its breathtaking scenery of rice terraces, mountain peaks, local ethnicity and cultural diversity. As years to come, more and more tourists flooded the place. Here are ways to get you here with different mode of transportation.

HOW TO GET TO SAPA FROM HANOI
There is no direct flight to Sapa now but it will available soon by year 2021. So, here are ways to get you here from Hanoi, Vietnam.
BY LIMO TRANSFER ( HANOI- SAPA | SAPA-HANOI)
You can opt to hire a private car or van for your city transfer. We booked shared limo transfer with 9-seater for a 6 hours journey ride. It was comfortable ride back to Hanoi. The price was S$20.00 per pax. The package include a mineral water , a bread and also complimentary wifi. The limo transfer stops twice for toilet break and there is a complimentary tea/coffee voucher on the second toilet break. It is included in the package. You can also check the price for Sapa- Hanoi Private Car Transfer too.
The good thing is that it picks you up from your choice of pick-up and drop-off location and the down side is that the traffic is unpredictable.
BY BUS
We wanted to utilise our days in Sapa so we decided to try the overnight sleeper bus. We took a 10pm sleeper bus from Hanoi and reach Sapa around 6am the next day. The sleeper bus is quite adventurous and it is my first time taking it. It is quite comfortable and the bad thing is that it is free seating. If you are not comfortable to sleep upper deck, you need to make sure you get in the bus earlier to secure the down deck. The bus stopped once for a toilet break throughout the journey. We booked the shared bus transfer from Hanoi to Vietnam and it costs S$19.75 per pax upon booking. You can also book Hanoi to Sapa bus transfer from this website too.

TIPS: Quote “HAZELOFF” to enjoy S$5 off when you book with KLOOK.

BY TRAIN
Sapa Station-Vietnam
Most people travel to Sapa by train to experience the overnight train service journey. The train service will takes approximately 6.5hours to 9 hours and the price is more expensive as compared to shared bus or limo transfer. It is approximately S$45 per trip. Thus, we decided to opt out. You can check out the train pricing and the schedule here.

The train station is located just right next to Hotel De La Coupole-MGallery by Sofitel.
