[AUSTRALIA TRAVELS] CAVERSHAM WILDLIFE PARK –PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

[AUSTRALIA TRAVELS] CAVERSHAM WILDLIFE PARK –PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

I miss Australia! Australia was my first overseas trip and I remembered it was Student’s Exchange Programme during university. Scoot was having flight promotion and decided to book to Perth for a 5 days trip. And Caversham Wildlife Park was one of my travel destinations while I was exploring Perth.

I do not have chance to get close with nature and animals as I am living in a city (Singapore). I am pretty occupied with working life. So, it was kind of memorable experience especially seeing koalas and kangaroos. I was there during February and thus you can imagine the blazing sun. I trekked about 2km under such weather into Caversham Wildlife Park. It was quite a memorable journey.
There is a shuttle bus at the pickup point near the entrance of Whiteman Park. So, I recommend you to dial for the service and wait for them to come.

Taking a shot along the path towards the park

I spent almost whole day there inclusive the travelling time. I would recommend you to come as early as possible so that you can catch most of the show timing. Once the admission fee is made, grab a map and start to plan your itinerary around the park. As for me, I don’t really plan and I just go by the flow. But one thing for sure is that don’t miss out the show timings for Meet Wombat & Friends.
Tourists can get close up and touch the animals. I was superb excited and the park rangers are there to ensure that we touched them in a correct way and also sharing their knowledge about the animals to us.And it was my first time taking photo with a snake! It was so cold and slippery!haha!
Next, I hop over to see koalas. It was quite disappointing because they are all sleeping during my visit. The furry and huge koalas are sleeping slowly on the branches. I did a slight stroke on their furry back and it was quite an experience.
Last stop was the Farm Show. It was an entertaining farm show performance by the talented park rangers. Audiences also have the chance to get involve in the performance which I personally think is engaging. The farm guy also demonstrated how to shear a sheep in a complete whole wool piece.
After the show was over, we get to go close to the sheep and also cow to take photos.
Then, there is an opportunity to try to milk the cow.
It was pretty productive day with lots of engagements with the animals and nature. As a whole, it was quite fun and intriguing. My only suggestion is that bring your own foods there. It is just like any other tourist spot where the foods offered are overpriced. This will help you save a bit.
