When Cathay was having a credit card promotion 2 months back, Eric and I decided to go for an impromptu decision to spend a foodie weekend in Hong Kong. It’s my 4^th time here and I did blogged about it previously but sad to say during the hosting migration issue, it’s all gone. Anyway, enough of the sad story. Here I am starting all over again my blog post!

Hong Kong has been trending with matcha hypes lately and I visited few of the list during my weekend trip. One of list was Sinmei Tea Café. The café is a walking distance from Sheung Wan MTR and located in Level 5, CS Tower Building. Find the 7-11 eleven store, and you will see the building just opposite it.Once you arrive the building, take the lift up to level 5 and you reach your destination.
Since the space is limited, there is a high possibilities that you need to queue a while before you get seated. The interior furnishings have the sense of east meets west decoration. Not the fancy cafes that you are expecting but it’s more to quiet and cosy atmosphere enjoying the calmness moments with a cup of tea.

Desserts
There is a list to choose from but we only have 2 pax. So we had the well-known Sizzling Matcha Brownie HKD78 and Earl Grey Angel Cake HKD40.


The sizzling matcha brownie is an instagram worthy photo for visual treats. The moment you pour the matcha sauce, the sizzling sounds from the hot plate gives a slight excitement at the moment. Personally felt the matcha flavour is thick and with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top of the brownie complete the taste of this dessert.

Earl Grey Angel Cake gave me an appealing taste. The cake texture was soft and fluffy with the earl grey fragrance. I love the density texture in it.

Main course are served as well but since our objective is to try the dessert, we gave it a miss.
