Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore has finally completed their refurbishment of all 476 rooms and suites with coloured themes and added meeting rooms and even new in-house spa brand called Purovel Spa & Sport. Their dining restaurants have also transformed and I had gone to the recent one, Ellenborough Market Café. The lobby area, walkways and restrooms have also benn given a fresh coat of paint to complete the makeover.


The whole renovation took 18 months to complete and it was done in phases. The designs are incorporated and embraced the local Peranakan culture and yet having a modernized look.

The hotel was recently recognized for its Green efforts with the SHA-NEA 3R Awards for Hotel (Merit) 2016 for commendable waste minimisation and recycling practices.

All rooms are well appointed and furnished with a full range of amenities to serve both leisure and business travellers alike. They include a complimentary Handy smartphone which allows guests to surf the internet and make IDD calls to 10 selected countries, high speed internet access, coffee and tea making facilities, in-room safe and a well-stocked resident’s bar.

The hotel also caters to guests that travelling with kids- the Swissotel Kids Room up to 12 years of age.
