[SG EATS]WEEKEND BRUNCH WITH ROOSEVELT’S DINER AND BAR [CLOSED]
Hello guys!Weekend brunch post for the start of the weekend again! This time is from Roosevelt’s Diner and Bar which is located within a walking distance from Outram Park MRT station (Exit H). I remembered my first visit was as a paying customer earlier this year and this is my second visit courtesy of Amanda. So, I am here to try their recent revamp weekend brunch dishes with fellow foodies.
Check out some of the new dishes that we tried last Sunday:-
WEEKEND BRUNCH
Smoked salmon Benedict with Yuzu Hollandaise S$18.00
It is always a good idea to start a weekend brunch with egg Benedict. I enjoyed the oozing egg yolk when we poked the egg and blend with the yuzu hollandaise sauce.
BBQ pork belly Benedict with Cayenne Hollandaise S$18.00
We usually have egg Benedict with smoked salmon but Roosevelt has come up with BBQ pork belly to serve. The meats were thinly sliced and placed on top of the English muffin.
Coconut yoghurt with chia seed, cinnamon banana, housemade maple granola and berry compote S$16.00
An healthier option for those who love to start the morning with simple. The overall taste is sweet and once you pour over the berry compote, the sweetness taste even stronger. It would be great if the sweetness level can be reduced.
Southern fried chicken burger served with tangy house sauce and coleslaw S$18.00
The southern fried chicken was executed well with its crispiness on the outer layer followed by the tender and juicy in the inner meat. I would go for this for my lunch or dinner as well.
DESSERTS
Nutella banana crumble with s’mores S$13.00
We also tried the nutella banana crumble with s’mores. Finger licking good for fans of the combination of nutella and smores.
Cinnamon donut with nutella truffle dip and ice-cream S$13.00
Lastly, we tried the cinnamon donut which comes with 2 choices of dipping. We had nutella truffle dip but there is an option for salted caramel sauce dip as well. It would be best if the cinnamon donuts can be softer to bite. As for the dip, the truffle taste was stronger and I was unable to find the concentrated taste of the sauce.
It was a quick session for 4 of us as we finished off within an hour (including photo taking and eating). As a whole, there are hits and misses on the menu but menu here are constantly changing from time to time. So, always keep a lookout on surprises from the Roosevelt’s team to satisfy you from time to time.
[This is an invited tasting session. Thanks Amanda for the invite.]
