[JB EATS] AFFORDABLE LUNCH AT HUNG KITCHEN [韓小廚 ]| KAMPUNG UNGKU MOHSIN

My dad loves to explore new places all the time. He recently recommended Hung Kitchen located at Kampung Ungku Mohsin to the family. But my mum is aware the existence of this place as this is one of her lunch options when her company used to be at the area. Basically, the place has been operating for years and people start noticing this place due to their affordable pricing. Hung Kitchen is hidden in one of the houses along the street. Despite the location, there are lunch crowds flowing in during weekdays.

There are signboards with menu listing with prices. This is so much easier for everyone to look up and take their pick. The staff will approach you to take order and payment to be made after the meal. The drinks order will come from separate stall.
Also, there are signboards stating their speciality for each day. We were there on Saturday and it was their ayam lemak chilli padi. Thus, I decided to give it a try.

Ayam Lemak Chilli Padi – RM6.50

It is the green curry chicken rice. The green curry gravy was thick and creamy and it comes with 2 big pieces of chicken and some vegetables. Superb valuable!

Chicken Curry Rice RM5.50
My sister favourite chicken curry rice served with 2 big pieces of chicken meat and potatoes to enjoy with a plate of white rice. The curry gravy was thick and not spicy at all. There is a taste of sweetness in it and homely feel curry taste.

Ham Chicken Chop RM10.00
My dad decided to go for western food for lunch. He ordered Cheese & Ham Chicken Chop with black pepper gravy and fries. Nothing much to rave about but one thing for sure, you can never get such portion in shopping mall food courts and restaurants at this price.

Total meal was RM22.00. Overall is a generous portion and wallet-friendly meal. The waiting time is less than 10 minutes and the foods served were still warm. As I observed, their gravies are pre-made and they just need to drizzle or pour over the foods according to customers’ order. Nevertheless, it is still a good bargain for a cheap meal, don’t you think so? I will be back for the affordable meal if I am back to JB.
