[JB EATS] 5 MUST-TRY DISHES FROM DRAGON-I
If you are a frequent weekend traveller to JB, I bet you sure visited Dragon-I for their delicacies. Dragon-I restaurant delicacies is inspired by the rich and diverse culinary offerings from China especially from the regions of Shanghai, Szechuan, Beijing and Lanzhou. My first experience with Dragon-I was at Pavilion outlet in Kuala Lumpur 5 years back. Thus, when they expanded their outlet to Johor Bahru, I am glad that my family get a taste of it. I patronized the restaurant with different group of dining mates but the foods that I had each time are almost exactly the same dish.
So, here are my 5 must-try dishes to try:
1. Peking Duck
Peking Duck offered in Dragon-I price is quite reasonable ranging from RM110 onwards (~ S$36.60). They do promotion from time to time and it comes with 3- course. The first is the sliced peking duck followed by choice of cooking method for the duck meat and the last course is the duck bone soup with soft beancurd. For the second course, we usually will go for the braised rice noodles with shredded duck meat.
2. Fried radish cake with prawns and Dried Scallops in XO Sauce
My favourite dish whenever I visited the restaurant. Love the radish cake served in cubes and the fragrant taste from the dried scallops in xo sauce. Yumss..
3. Shanghai Steamed Meat Dumplings
Xiao long bao is definitely everyone favourite and you can see almost every table will have at least one order. Juicy steamed dumplings or we called it soup dumplings are best to enjoyed with excellent ginger sauce and vinegar.
4. Steamed Prawn Dumplings with SzeChuan Chili Soy Sauce
If you are up to spicy flavours, get this in your order list. The chilli soy sauce is not overwhelming and quite a comfort dish I would say.
5. Deep fried beancurd with Salt & Pepper
Looks ordinary but this is good. The chef did a good job on the beancurd. Cripsy golden on the outer layer and yet fluffy and airy in the inner. I enjoyed it with a dip of mayonnaise.
6. Steamed Piggy bun
Lastly if you like cute stuff, you can order this cute piggy bun for photo taking.
Have you tried Dragon-I before? If yes, what is your favourite dish from the restaurant?
