[BANGKOK EATS] SCALINI ITALIAN RESTAURANT AT HILTON SUKHUMVIT BANGKOK
Whenever I travel to Bangkok, I will hunt for their local delights and cafés. But during my last trip here, I get a chance to dine in at Scalini at Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok hotel. This Italian-American restaurant serves Italian cuisines with a modern twist incorporating innovative elements to their menu.
Scalini is located on the second floor of the hotel where it is cater for hotel guests to enjoy their breakfast spread in the morning. I will share more on the breakfast spread on my next post. So, we were here for their dinner session on one of our stay in Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok.
Here are highlights of the evening which is the food that we had:
Complimentary breads before we start the dinner.
Scalini Caesar Salad THB480 ~S$19.30
The salad is prepared right in front of you. All the ingredients are put into a big bowl to give a nice toss and mix before serving it to us.
Seafood Spaghetti Pasta THB680 ~S$27.30
Our favourite dish of the night.The seafood spaghetti pasta is wrapped in a parchment pouch then baked. It has the infused ocean taste with the seafood ingredients in it.
Crispy chicken breast, black truffle sauce 590THB ~S$23.70
Cast iron chicken breast served with shimeji mushrooms, artichoke, garlic and black truffle sauce.
Sabayon THB500~S$20.10
Sabayon is the French name for zabaglione. It refers to light, mousse-like Italian dessert that’s made with beaten egg whites and a mixture of wine or liqueur. This applies to the name of the dessert and we got to watch how the staff prepared the desserts in front of us. It is beautifully crafted on the plate with cherries, anise chocolate microwave sponge and almond tulip.
Our dinner in Scalini ended with a pleasant sweet note. The whole ambience is chic and relaxed. What surprises us is that the staffs are knowledgeable and well-equipped with skills to prepare and served in front of diners. It is definitely an excellent service from the front line to have personal bonding with the diners while preparing it in front of them.
