[HK EATS] SHARI SHARI KAKIGORI HOUSE (氷屋 ) – ONE OF THE MUST VISIT DESSERT CAFE IN HONG KONG
With the recent kakigori trend from Japan, Hong Kong also started the trend as well. Shari Shari Kakigori House is another hipster café not to miss when you are travelling here. The café is a walking distance from Via Tokyo and you can have your matcha or houjicha softserve and headed to Shari Shari.
My first experience with kakigori is from Softsrve Johor Bahru. Oh ya.. you can try it in Johor Bahru if Hong Kong is too far . Kakigori is a type of Japanese shaved ice-dessert flavoured with syrup and sweetener and looks similar like ice kachang.
Although the social media feeds are raving about the green tea/ matcha flavoured, we decided to try their season flavour-Sakura Blossom! There was only one staff in the shop and she handles the ordering, making and collecting payment for the whole operation. Thus, the waiting time would be slightly longer. So be patient if you are dropping by and there is only one staff there.
The Sakura Blossom is in light pink which is exactly like sakura colour. The snow is soft and fluffy. My friend had the first taste and she said it tasted really like sakura. This reminds her of the sakura dessert she had in Japan few years back. The sakura tasted bit salty and sour as it is preserved in salt. We enjoyed having it and can’t help to notice that the 2 tables next to us also ordered the same flavour.
I hope to be back to Hong Kong again to check out their Matcha flavour. If you are visiting Hong Kong soon, do check out this famous dessert shop. And hopefully you can have a taste of sakura too while it is still available.
