[KL EATS] Sin Kiew Yee Shin Kee Hakka Beef Noodles (新记牛肉粉) At Petaling Street | Kuala Lumpur | Malaysia
I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown during my weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is strategically located walking distance to the famous Petaling Street. With so many food choices around the area, I opted out the hotel breakfast. We decided to visit Sin Kiew Yee Shin Kee Beef Noodles. It is probably one of the oldest restaurants in Petaling Street (since 1930s) that is known for its homemade Hakka beef noodles.<
We arrived slightly after 10.30am and the place is almost full house. We managed to secure our seats without queuing. The moment we sat down, there is a man placing the menu on the table and seems hurrying you to place order. Take your time and place your order.
The menu is straightforward and you can see at one glance. Choose either dry or soup, noodles, and ingredients you want. Noodles choices include yellow noodle, bihun and hor fun. You can choose Small size at RM10 ~S$3 or Large size at RM12.00 ~S$3.60.
We ordered Fresh Beef Soup Hor Fun Noodles (S) and Mixed Beef Soup (S) to try. The beef soup is made of boiled beef bones served with spring onions, fried onions, and coriander. The mixed beef soup comes with an assortment of beef parts. I personally like the beef balls and the soup is flavorsome.
As for the beef noodles, the soup was clear, light but rich in taste. It comes with the grounded beef topping on top and give a good mix before digging it. I personally think that the mixed beef soup taste more flavorful than this. Perhaps because of the mixed beef parts are cooked and put together creates more in-depth flavor.

Overall was not bad except for the service. Do not expect top notch service here. The turnover is fast and there are limited seats only. So, what customers usually do is to share table with strangers. The food is served in less than 5 minutes and payment to be made upon serving. I will be back for this if I am staying or around the vicinity. Tasty and comforting beef soup in the heart of Chinatown so far.
