[IPOH EATS] Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum Ipoh- Dim Sum For Breakfast

Ming Court Hong Kong Tim Sum is one of the famous dim sum breakfast places in Ipoh. There are quite a number of Dim Sum restaurants like famous Foh San along the popular Dim Sum Street called Jalan Leong Sin Nam. The restaurant is pretty crowded and packed when we arrived almost 8am that morning.Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum-Hazeldiary
Our first time here and we were quite lost as we stepped into the restaurant. All the staffs are busy and we need to find our own seats. It is pretty hard to secure a table within your group as they practised table-sharing concept or we called it ‘Thap Toi’ here. It is just like Hong Kong-style way of enjoying dim sum.

So in Ming Court, the staffs will carry the dim sum and walk from table to table for customers to pick and choose from the tray. Order chit is provided and they will just tick on the order chit once you pick and choose.

There are many varieties of dim sum here served in smaller sizes as compared the one I usually had in other places. Items include siew mai, prawn dumpling, pai kuat, egg tarts, carrot cake, chee cheong fun, century egg porridge and many more. We were spoilt with choices and we couldn’t order more as we have other stops after this breakfast.

Special mention is the ‘Sek Lau Mai’ which is the minced pork dumplings with peanuts and Chinese chives which is not commonly found in most dim sum places.

We enjoyed most of the items here except for the egg tart. We had better ones at other places and I think you can just skip the egg tart here. It is good but not fantastic for our preference.

Overall was a pleasant dining experience and once we finished our food, we proceed to the counter to make payment with our order chit. It is as simple as that. It is more of self-service practise here and customers will re-fill their hot tea by themselves too. The bill was affordable as the dim sum priced from RM2.40 – RM5.80 ~ S$0.80- S$0.90.
