[HK EATS] Kung Wo Soya Bean Factory (公和荳品廠) At Sham Shui Po | Hong Kong
Finally, back to Hong Kong after 4 years and many things have changed since the pandemic occurs. I was in Hong Kong for the weekend and decided to venture to Sham Shui Po. I visited Kung Wo Soya Bean Factory (公和荳品廠), which was established in 1893 and is one of the oldest shops in Hong Kong which sells the traditional soya bean curd.
This Bib Gourmand by the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2022 shop is one of the popular snack shops in Hong Kong makes its own tofu and sells all things related to soya bean. Be it sweet or savoury customers can purchase and dine-in to enjoy snacks like soya bean milk, soya bean curd, fried tofu topped with fish paste and fried taupok. They are also feature in OpenRice People’s Choice Award as Best Snacks Shop (2010-16) and Best Restaurant in Sham Shui Po (2015-16).
They have two shops here where one shops mainly to cater for dine-in customers while the other one is for dine-in and at the same time selling tofu and dried stocks at the front entrance.
Here is a shot of the menu.
I ordered their signature dishes include fried stuffed tofu, soy milk and bean curd. Everything is good and I love the mixture of fried items like tofu, tofu puff, golden fish & soy cake. It was a good choice for snacks. There are sauces available at the table and you can choose to dip them to enhance the taste.
Don’t forget to put the orange granules of sugar to your soya beancurd for some sweetness.

I will visit here again if I am back to Hong Kong. I enjoyed the soybean products here especially the fried tofu and the beancurd. Tofu is smooth like silk and brings out that rich soybean flavour.
Nothing fancy but you will never get tired of it.
Note: Payment is by CASH only.
Note: Limited seating and you will most likely share the table with strangers. The turnover is very fast so do not expect this is a place for you to chill and chit chat. Diners will eat and go.
