[KL EATS] Soong Kee Beef Noodle 頌記牛肉丸粉 at Kuala Lumpur | Malaysia

I had a weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to check out some of the hawker street food stalls that will be coming into Singapore this year under EatAlley Singapore Group. I will share more about the Singapore concept in a separate post. Soong Kee Beef Noodle located at Jalan Tun Hau Shik Lee, Kuala Lumpur is one of the stalls that will be expanding to Singapore.

The family business has been around since 1945 and currently run by second generation owner. They used to have a stall and moved to coffeeshop years later. The kitchen is located at the back of the shop where there is a side door entrance for customers to walk in from other side of the alley.

Soong Kee Beef Noodles KL-Beef Egg Noodles
We tried the Tripe Beef Noodles -RM10 ~S$3 that consists of a bowl of egg noodles and topped with thick black coated stewed minced meat and “you mai cai”- Chinese lettuce. It comes with a clear soup bowl filled with beef slices, tripe, stomach, and beef balls. We give a good toss of the noodles and minced beef and pork before we dig in. I personally enjoyed the noodles texture and the savoury flavours from the tender bits of the meat.

Complete it with the clear soup full of goodness and beef flavours. The beef stomach and tripe tasted chewy and does not have a mild offal scent. Moist, juicy, and loose texture beef balls. We were told that the balls are freshly made every morning.

We were recommended to try it with their homemade chilli. It was placed on each table and customers can feel free to take. If you are a chilli person, try it! Homemade chilli always taste better than canned ones.

If you are not going Kuala Lumpur any soon, you can try them in Singapore this coming June 2023. Hopefully EatAlley Singapore will open by then. You can find them at Basement 2 of Orchard Gateway.
