Whenever weekend comes, you will see many are going across the JB causeway for shopping and eating. Youngsters will go for Café hopping in Johor Bahru. My recent visit café visit is to Union Fashion Bar located at Taman Sutera area. There are busses going to Taman Sutera if you are travelling from second link. So, fret not, it is still accessible even without driving. Union Fashion Bar (UFB) was opened last year and one of the co-owner, Mr Yap Chern Chee was a former Chef de Partie at Bakerzin Singapore since 2000. Mr Yap was under Chef Daniel Tay (the world Cup Pastry Chef 2001) previously and he finally realized his dream into venturing his own F&B business.

Let’s move on and see what Mr Yap is offering for the Set Lunch Menu.
Chicken Teriyaki Set/ Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki RM16.90

Minced Beef Katsu Set/ Minced Beef Katsu with Tonkatsu Sauce- RM19.90

Grilled Salmon Miso Set/Grilled Salmon Miso Butter/Grilled Salmon Basil Teriyaki/Grilled Salmon with Basil Teriyaki Sauce – RM21.90

Crispy Chicken Curry/Crispy Chicken with Japanese Curry – RM16.90

Pan-Seared Seafood / Sauteed Seafood with Tonkatsu Sauce RM21.90

Grilled mushroom and assorted Vegetable set / Mixed Vegetable with Japanese Curry – RM14.90

All meal comes with salad, rice, cold bean curd and green tea jelly with vanilla sauce. The lunch promotion is available from Monday – Sunday 12:00PM – 6:00PM.
All meal comes with FREE black coffee, tea or soft drink from 12:00PM – 3:00PM.

It is quite an affordable set lunch meal with the generous portion serving and varieties in a set. My favourite among the set lunch was Salmon and Chicken version. If you are a vegan, you can opt for the Grilled mushroom and assorted vegetable set or mixed vegetable with Japanese curry. The choices are cater for diners who are a meat lovers and vegan lovers too. Thus, frets not; there are definitely choices for you when you dine in at UFB.

On top of the set lunch menu, UFB also offers western cuisines include pizzas and also pastas. Their waffles with fried chicken have received positive feedbacks via social media platform. I guess I will be back for more of it.

The official launching date for the set lunch menus will be 2 May 2016. So, save the date!

Matcha Parfait – RM16.90

The dessert combination includes frozen cheesecake, matcha ice-cream, red bean, panna cotta and Matcha Kit Kat.

Chocolate Parfait – RM16.90

The dessert combination includes frozen cheesecake, chocolate ice-cream, lemon jelly and chocolate wafers.

I was fascinated with the rainbow series drinks served in UFB. There are red velvet, blue coral, yam, matcha and piccolo flavours available in this café. It was so attractive that I couldn’t stop snapping at it.

Before I end the post, UFB turns into bar after 6pm daily. Diners can expect to chill and relax enjoying the cocktails here too. It is interesting to have café in the day and bar in the night. It is only available at Taman Sutera, Johor Bahru.
