The Replacement Lodge & Kitchen café is well-known in Johor Bahru café scene as well as one of the favourite cafe lists for Singaporeans. Within a walking distance from JB checkpoint City Square mall, the café serves all-day brunch starting from 10:00am. The spacious café is highly regarded as instagram-worthy spot due to the kinfolk alike theme and rustic wooden furniture. They have recently added marble round table just outside the corridor of the café.


Anyway, this post is not about the food served here but the lodge that are opened to book since early this month. Just like the name of the café- The Replacement Lodge is finally here just right above the café. The lodge is situated at the heritage old town of Johor Bahru is perfect for those who are planning for a short gateway over the weekend. The hostel is designed with Nordic and minimalistic elements.

The lodge/ hostel consists only 6 rooms with individual designs to ensure spacious compound and relaxing stay. Few of us get the chance to get a glimpse on the hostel last weekend. The hostel is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. We went ‘Wow’ ‘Wow’ exploring the place.

The only room with Queen Bed is priced at RM148.00 (1 night stay) inclusive of breakfast for 2 pax from the café itself. Seriously, it is superb affordable!

As much as we loved the place and the designs, the disadvantage part is that the bathroom and toilet are for public. Anyway, it is a hostel so naturally facilities are public use.

As for the security wise, there will have a guard downstairs in future to ensure the safety of the guests.Thus, no worries of the safety issue. Just be more careful when you are travelling late night in Johor Bahru.
