[PENANG EATS] SIGI’S BAR & GRILL ON THE BEACH – SUNSET DINNER AT BATU FERRINGHI
I was staying at Golden Sands Resorts Penang during Hari Raya Haji and decided to have dinner at one of the restaurants, Sigi’s Bar & Grill On the Beach for dinner.Sunset at Batu Ferringhi beach was indeed a sight to behold. It has been a while since I last enjoyed dinner with such a gorgeous sunset beach view. This beach front restaurant within the hotel is one of the best dining views in Penang. Oh boy! I am so lucky to dine in here.
So, my friend and I had the best view from the alfresco dining area overlooking the beach. We get to enjoy our foods while watching the sunset throughout the night. Such a magnificent view that we definitely will not get bored over it.
The restaurant is equipped with an open barbecue grill kitchen and wood-fire pizza oven. They serves varieties including grilled and barbecue seafood, prime steaks, wood-fire pizza, pastas, salads and many more. It can be a dinner spot for families, friends and romantic dining with loved ones.
We were served with complimentary breads before the mains.
Wild Mushroom Soup – RM25.00
Mushroom soup drizzled with truffle oil served with a slice of bread. Thick, creamy and comforting soup to kick start the meal.
Grilled Seafood Platter – RM84.00
Mushroom soup drizzled with truffle oil served with a slice of bread. Thick, creamy and comforting soup to kick start the meal.
Since only two of us, the staff recommended grilled seafood platter. This is one of their signature dishes with succulent grilled assortment of seafood served with greens, roast chat potatoes and Chef’s secret sauce. Seafood ingredients include large tiger prawns, squids and mussels are grilled into perfection. The portion was just nice for two of us.
Quattro Formaggio Pizza- RM42.00
It has been a while since I had four cheese pizza and decided to give this a try here. The thin-crusted pizza has the combination of Feta, Rouquefort, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese with tomato sauce and oregano. As much as I love four cheese pizza, I think the cheese flavours was overwhelming though. We had one slice each and we were too full so we packed back for our supper.
To complete the meal, I also ordered cocktail drink. Sigi’s beach bar has a range of cocktail menu that are colourful and cool. Mocktails are available as well.
We were too full by then to check out their pasta selections. Perhaps the next trip to Batu Ferringhi, Penang. But one thing for sure, the staffs are friendly and approachable as they do take the initiative to have bonding moments with the diners. It makes us feel comfortable enjoying our meal and I can see the diners from the next table were entertained with laughter as well. Dining here enjoying the relaxing cool sea breeze blowing on to your face was such a luxury.
