[HK EATS] Joy Hing Roasted Meat (再興燒臘飯店) | Hong Kong
The last meal during my recent Hong Kong trip was at Joy Hing. Located within a walking distance from Wan Chai MTR, Joy Hing is one of the locals’ favourite BBQ meats especially office workers around the business districts will drop by during lunch hours.
E and I were here before the lunch crowd so we comfortably have a table of our own. The people here were friendly and patient with our order too. Menu with price is available on the wall for easy reference but it is written in Chinese.
Three Treasures (Sam Pou Fan) – 三宝飯 HKD 25
We ordered a plate each of us. This plate of goodness consist of chicken, duck and char siew. The portion was generous especially the amount of white rice. The soy chicken comes with a delectable side of mashed garlic and scallions to enhance the flavours of the chicken meats. The roast duck meats were tasty and tender. Even the char siew was lean, tender and thick too.
Yat Lok –一樂燒鵝
We also ordered Yat Lok as our side dish as this is too good not to be missed. This plate of mixed roasted goose and siu yuk (roasted pork) was awesome. The siu yuk was crispy and thick with the heavy salty taste in it. But it goes pretty well with the plate of white rice.
Good brunch before heading to airport. We were told to enjoy our foods first before making payment upon foods served. The orders were served less than 3-5 minutes as soon as the ordering waiter shouted to the open-kitchen just few steps away from us. Efficiency in Hong Kong food stalls is undeniable. Pricing wise is pocket-friendly.
