1 Medini Hub located within Medini in Iskandar Malaysia is a relatively new area to explore. It is the first residential condominium in Medini which is a few minutes drive away from Legoland Johor Bahru. Thanks to KK, I get to know this new place and we visited Gourmet Trails Marketplace and Deli recently with Tony (Johor Kaki).

 Gourmet Trails Marketplace and Deli is co-owned by Mr Rajiv and partner who are currently residing in Singapore but travels to Johor Bahru often. They decided to start up this place to satisfy their cravings for the foods that they missed from their hometown or even countries that they have been before.

So, what makes Gourmet Trails Marketplace different from others?
This marketplace is few months old and they are still monitoring the demands and supply for things that the community wants. Thus, they have this guestbook where customers can write down the ingredients and things that they wish to have it here. Mr Rajiv and team will then try to source it for the customers and get it place on the shelves.

Other than this, there is a deli section where they served simple preparation delicacies from the ingredients sold in the marketplace.

Here are some of the foods that we tried that day:
Organic Quinoa Zuccini Burger with feta cheese spread – RM19.90+

Mozzarella Crostini – RM11.90+

Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Crostini- RM14.90+

Bacon & Caramelized Onion Crostini – RM14.90+

Everything feels like homemade dish where you can purchase the ingredients from the shelves. It is good that they use ingredients available at marketplace to create dishes to customers. Customers will also get inspired to work on the dishes as well.

For expatriates especially, this place is indeed a home feeling place where they can find familiar ingredients and stuffs back home. Gourmet Trails is still new and trying to find tune to ensure that the community gets their needs here.
