It has been a while since I did a listing post and this time I am sharing list of cafes in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru. In fact, this post has been in my draft for since last year. Since the demand crossing causeway has been rising due to exchange rate, here is another area of Johor Bahru to explore.

If you prefer cafes out of the mall, check out Mount Austin which is 30-45 mins drive away from CIQ JB immigration. You can take Uber or Grab instead of the cab that charges twice the price. It should not be more than RM50.





Here are my frequent visit cafes in Taman Molek:
1. My Liberica Specialty Coffee

This is one of my favorites café before the café hipster started. It was well-known with its own roasted coffee beans. They served premium coffee such as coffee luwak, croissants, swiss rolls and crepe cakes. They also extended their menu with desserts including parfaits and other varieties.You will always find this place full house especially during weekend. There are quite a number of regulars here. The café also franchise out and available in Taman Mount Austin and Taman Sutera.





2. The Brew Orchestra

The café offers nicely brewed teas and coffee. I love their interior design theme with a mixture of modernize architectural simple yet comfortable feel. There has the grand hall centre seating in the middle of the interior café. Also, there is a corner display for selection of pastries available. I would prefer to enjoy their specialty teas here with the pastries. Other than that, waffles and brunch menu are available as well. I personally enjoyed their genmaicha tea and pair it with sweet treats.

First Visit

Bonbon Bakery Café is located few steps away from Brew Orchestra. It shares the same name as the bakery in Australia but I am not sure if there are franchise café or not. The café has a simple interior design with a minimalist instagram interior shoot for instagrammer seekers. There is a wooden table that serves up to 6 or more pax the moment you enter the café. The cakes are displayed at the counter for you to pick and ordering and payment to be made at the cashier counter. So, what does the café serves? The café offers coffee, tea, cold pressed juices, cakes and crepes. Read more on my visit here.

4. The Sugar Pantry

Sugar Pantry is well-known their beautiful pastries. It is the 2nd outlet operating in huge scale.The café here in Taman Molek offers not only pastries but there also provides breads and savory items as well. With 2 levels space of café, you can expect spacious comfortable hanging around the place. Their signature Paris Best was the best selling among the rest. But other desserts such as their signature Paris Brest , Mont Blanc and Bundle of Sunshine tasted pretty awesome as well. There also have the matcha soft serve and ice-cream that you should give it a try. They also included savoury dishes into their menu list.

It is just another concept by Just Want Coffee that secures its place at Taman Molek. The concept here has the homely and spacious interior space. Everyone seems chill and relax in the café and there are also outdoor seating area as well. The whole place is also ideal for outfit shots. You can enjoy nice fruit tea, coffee and desserts while chit chatting away in the café.

Chatto is a handcrafted tea bar with Japanese concept established in Malaysia. They started their first outlet in Johor Bahru and expanded across Johor state. They offers variety selection of handcrafted teas, light Japanese snacks and fusion snacks. You can check out their full menu here.

As much as I wanted to keep this posted updated, do share with me any new updates around the area. I will try to visit the place when I am in Johor Bahru.
