[SG EATS] AFFORDABLE FRESH ITALIAN PASTAS BY PASTA FRESCA DA SALVATORE
Few weeks ago, I was invited to try out Pasta Fresca da Salvatore at Boat Quay. I was told that they started out as a small pasta shop at Bukit Timah selling pastas before it ventures to restaurant when Mr Salvatore’s mum started serving them. And so from there, they expanded to Boat Quay and another outlet at Siglap. The brand has also expanded their business to China. This Italian brand has established since 28 years ago in Singapore that specializes in handmade pastas.
Pasta Fresca has a central kitchen that produces fresh pastas daily and truly blessed to be here to get a taste of it. And so, we started our session with a nice view of the riverside on the 3rd level with a glass of wine.
STARTERS
BURRATA CONTADINA S$20.50
Freshly made burrata with 3 variants of buffalo mozzarella topped it. The cheese was smooth and juicy.
MELANZANE PARMIGIANA S$14.80 If you are not a eggplant person, perhaps you might not like it. This is all based on individual preference. It is just like having lasagna.
TAGLIERE MISTO S$26.90
The cold cuts and cheese platter served with different types of ham, salami and parmesan, blue cheese (sweet gorgonzola), honey sheep cheese (pecorino l’alveare). This is best to enjoy with a glass of wine.
MAINS
CRESPELLE AL FUNGHI S$20.40
This is a classic Italian-style crepe filled with sautéed mushrooms sauce, onions, parmesan cheese and oven-baked choice of tomato or cream sauce. It was my first time trying it and I find it rather interesting but I still prefer it with pasta though.
CONCHIGLIE MARE E MONTI S$21.70
Crabmeat and button mushrooms sautéed with white wine in pink sauce. I personally enjoyed the shell-like pasta but not for others though. I like it when I scooped a spoonful of the pasta and the shells are able to fill in the sweet chunks of crabmeats in it.
RAVIOLI DI BURRATA E TARTUFO NERO S$25.90
Homemade ravioli with burrata cheese and black truffles stuffing tossed in creamy porcini mushrooms sauce and topped with parma ham and truffles caviar. It is indeed a filling portion and the combination was rich and flavourful especially we had the burrata and black truffle as the filling of the ravioli.
TAGLIATA DI MANZO CON RUCOLA AL ROSMARINO S$36.90
Sliced beef tenderloin in rosemary oil served with mixed grilled vegetables and rucola. The meat was succulent tender and juicy. We were told that this is only 500 calories in this steak dish.
PIZZA RUCOLA, MOZZARELLA FRESCA E POMODORINI S$21.90++
PIZZA MASCARPONE S$22.50++
Signature pizza with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and rucola and pizza mascarpone with mascarpone, parma ham, rucola and tomatoes over the freshly baked pizza.
DESSERTS
TIRAMISU AL MASCARPONE E CAFFE S$10.90
Tiramisu served here is moist and with layers of mascarpone and fluffy coffee sponge cake which I couldn’t stop after the first bite.
PANNA COTTA S$10.90
The panna cotta served with amaretto liquer and it was a light taste. I would prefer Tiramisu to end the sweet note of the night though.
I would see myself coming back for their affordable pastas soon. The outlet at Boat Quay has a three-storey space which is ideal for events and celebrations. Big gatherings are best to have it at the lively Boat Quay area with a panaromic wine of the river at level three.
