[SG EATS] RYO SUSHI 24 HOUR DINER- WHAT? S$18.00 NETT OMAKASE OPENING SPECIAL

Yeah! You are right S$18.00 nett omakase from Ryo Sushi located at Tanjong Pagar. The restaurant has recently opened at Orchid Hotel and stating 24 hours operation. I was told that they will be operating 24 hours after they got enough manpower. So, what attracts me here is their opening special omakase 10-course meal at S$18.00 nett. Probably the cheapest omakase I ever had. I was there with a friend for dinner on last Saturday and we are the first customer on that day. Thus, we are entitled to S$18.00 nett opening special which is limited to 18 portions per day. The restaurant has limited space with only 8 counter seats available. Thus, it is better to make reservation if you intend to check them out.

Anyway, back to our 10-course meal. We were served edamame sprinkled with salt as the starter.

Next, chef prepared the 7- assorted sushi. He attentively watches our pace before making the individual pieces in sequence.
 1. Sea bream with truffle soy sauce
2. Salmon with ponzu jelly
3. Aburi Salmon with Shoyu Foam
4. Akami with ginger
5. Tuna sprinkled with Yuzu
6. Ika sprinkled with sesame seed
7. Cooked shrimp with miso, salt and tint of lime juice
After savouring all the 7 pieces of sushi, the chef served the sushi roll and clear miso soup as the last course of the omakase.

The whole dining process took us approximately 40 minutes. I would say it was quite fast because there was no customer around so the chef attention was all on us. We also ordered ocha (green tea) S$2.00/ cup to complete our meal.

Total bill was S$40.00 for 2 pax and I think it’s a good deal. I would happily revisit again if they can keep the prices down. But of course, don’t expect extensive sushi range with the price offered though. After all, it’s all about “you get what you pay for”. I personally feel that the price is reasonable with the portion served but if you are looking adventurous omakase dining experience, perhaps Ryo Sushi is not your cup of tea.

P/S: It is advisable to give them a call before going down to avoid disappointment. The opening timing is incorrect. Thus, it is better to check with them.
