Another new dessert place spotted at Taman Mount Austin. Softsrve Ice-Cream and Dessert Bar has finally opened in Johor Bahru right after Inside Scoop located at Taman Sutera. It seems like the trending desserts in Kuala Lumpur is moving to Johor direction now. The dessert shop is currently on soft opening session. Thus, there are only two ice-cream flavours available as they are still fine tuning the operations.
We were there on their first day operation (30 December 2016) afternoon and it was full house. We decided to wait outside for the desserts to be served since there is no seats available.If you are wondering where the location is, it is at Level 2 of the same building as Liberica Cafe.
Since they only have oolong tea and chocolate flavour, we decided to try both. Sunflower RM12.00 that consists of oolongcha softserve, caramelized sunflower seeds and dried pineapple flower atop. It was served with dry ice below which gives a very nice effect on the presentation. It is similar as KOONE concept. However, I prefer their ice-cream taste though. The oolong cha taste refreshing and the toppings like sunflower seeds added in give extra crunch.
As for the chocolate flavour, we decided to have it with red velvet cone and topped with chocolate truffles cube size. The chocolate taste is not strong and rich for my preference though.
Softsrve also offers Kakigori and parfait series. Customers can also customize their soft serve with the choice of toppings available. Additional charges are applicable.
