It seems like staycation in DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru has been a yearly affair for me. This is my third time staying here and this time round is rather different from the past. My first two staycation was with my parents because they have complimentary vouchers after signing up as Hilton Honors. But this time is a weekend staycation with my girlfriend just across the causeway.




Here are my 5 favourite reasons to stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru with your girlfriends:
1. HOTEL FACILITIES
DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru offers 335 guest rooms including 52 suites. We stayed at one of the suite located at 27th floor with views of the Johor Bahru city. Hotel facilities include fitness Room, pool, sauna and Jacuzzi are all available at 13th floor. We can just stay whole day in the hotel enjoying the facilities and at the same time have fun bonding together.

2. HOTEL ROOM

Since it’s girls outing staycation and we need a bigger space, the suite room is a good choice. Their King Bedroom Suite which comprises a main living room, kitchenette and walk-in shower. There is even a washing machine as well. And of course the suite comes equipped with in-room work space, 40’ LCD Tv.The whole place made us feel like ‘home sweet home’. It’s basically like a mini studio apartment where we can just chill and relax in the room. Also, if you are staying at the suite, hotel guests are offer privileged access to the Executive Lounge where complimentary breakfast, evening drinks and canapés are served.

3. FOOD CHOICES EVERYWHERE
DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru has four dining options:- Makan Kitchen, Tosca, The Food Store and Axis Lounge. We didn’t manage have time to enjoy hi-tea at Axis Lounge but I do highly recommend to enjoy their hi-tea package which offers a good deal.
Makan Kitchen is an all day dining restaurant with Asian-style buffet that symbolizes the multi-racial culture in Malaysia.

If you prefer westernized-style dining, Tosca at level 13 is the one for you. My friend and I enjoyed the Italian trattoria and bar that offers Italian cuisines with views of the pool.

Lastly, The Food Store that sells decent nasi lemak and the mouth-watering churros that you wouldn’t want to miss. This place is usually for casual meetings or afternoon tea. You can purchase the Doubletree chocolate chip cookie here too.
Or opt for room services which are a phone call away only. My girlfriend and I requested for room services and we just worn our pyjamas without make up enjoying breakfast in comfort. And not forgetting getting some nice instagram-worthy shot on bed too. Additional charges are applicable.

4. CENTRALISED LOCATION IN THE HEART OF JB CITY
We pick the hotel is because of the location. It is centralized in the heart of Johor Bahru city. It is just 10-15 minutes walk away from City Square Mall and Komtar JBCC. If you want to go further to shop, you can easily get a taxi or GrabCar/ Uber to take you to KSL or even AEON Tebrau. The taxi fare is not more than RM15.00 if you are using GrabCar/ Uber to KSL/ Holiday Plaza. This is based on our experience. We took GrabCar to Holiday Plaza to get our hair fix.
If shopping is not your cup of tea, you can go for cafehopping within a walking distance.

5. “MAKE IT RIGHT” COMMITMENT POLICY
Not sure if you guys noticed that if you stay at DoubleTree by Hilton properties, there will is a tag placed at the side table of the room with the label “Make it Right’. Should hotel guests have unpleasant experience throughout the stay with them, you can highlight to the staffs. They will ‘make it right’ for you so that you as a hotel guest is able to enjoy a pleasant stay with them.
And of course their signature DoubleTree Chocolate Chip cookie whenever hotel guests check-in at the lobby.
