[SG EATS] Kuvo Launches A-La-Carte Buffet with Contemporary Chinese Tapas
I am back to Kuvo and this time round is to check out their A-La-Carte Buffet that offers contemporary Chinese Tapas. Kuvo is a multi-concept restaurant and bar located on the second floor of Orchard Shopping Centre. It is situated just above Ice Lab Cafe (previously was Robert Timms).
Here is how it works for the a-la-carte buffet in Kuvo:
Diners will be given an order chit to order from the lists of the dishes. The first section which stated “One Serving Per Diner Section” is only served once for each diner with terms and conditions applied.
Since there are 6 of us, we ordered all 6 dishes. Out of the 6 dishes, I would highly recommend the Braised Abalone and Superior Broth Rice with Truffle Oil. It is everyone’s favourite followed by the Crispy Suckling Pig with Prawn Paste.
Next is the Eat-All-You-Can Section where diners can choose and tick accordingly. You can order the dishes you like more than once time as it is eat-all-you-can concept here.
We had most of the dishes listed in the order chit. There are Deep-fried honshimeji mushroom with golden crumbs which is very addictive. We could not stop digging in for this.
The seafood radish cake with X.O. sauce is pretty good too. The tapas bite-size radish cake is served beautifully on the plate.
Special crispy spring chicken is recommended. We enjoyed the crispy outer layer of the chicken skin and the meat is tender and juicy.
Braised pork belly with Hakka preserved vegetable. It is rather interesting combination with distinctive taste.
Next is the steamed fish with olive vegetable in black bean sauce and steamed fish with housemade sauce. The housemade sauce tasted similar like the Dancing Chef paste when we had the first bite.
Prawn lovers can order their spicy lava deep-fried prawn roll. Everyone went ‘wow’ when they had the first bite. Or crispy shrimp wonton perhaps?
We also had black pepper beef cube, champagne pork ribs, poached Chinese spinach with trio egg in superior broth. The champagne pork ribs are kinda disappointing. We don’t really enjoy the texture and the flavours of the pork ribs.
And lastly their two desserts are recommended. Freshing calamansi jelly and pan-fried glutinous rice cake. It is a perfect ending for a buffet meal.
If you are heading down to check out their buffet, I would suggest to come with at least 4-6ppl so that you can enjoy more varieties available in the list.
