Hello guys! I am back with buffet updates from Ellenborough Market Café Swissotel Merchant Court. If you have been reading my blog posts, you should know by now that Ellenborough Market Café constantly has new offerings for their buffet spread.

Here comes the highlight for July & August 2017:
Durian Delight
1 to 31 July 2017

Durian season is back! I still remember I had a wonderful durian feast back in 2015 with Ellenborough Market Café. Apart from their signature Durian Pengat dessert, there are other durian desserts such as Durian Cream puff, Durian Crepe, Durian Tart, Durian Chendol, Durian Pudding and many more. There are fresh and rich selection of seasonal fruits such as rambutan, mangosteen and mangoes at the Tropical Fruits stand which is just right next to the Nyonya Laksa station.



The peranakan cuisines including Ayam Buah Keluak, Black bean Slipper Lobster and fresh seafood selection on ice are still in the buffet spread as well.

And for those who love the King of Durian, Mao Shan Wang, it is available in the buffet, priced at S$7.50 per 100g. Diners can specify and will be charged accordingly to their desired serving amount. The staff will serve fresh Mao Shan Wang at its buffet.

A Feast of National Pride

In conjunction with Singapore 52nd birthday, Ellenborough Market Café is having “A Feast of National Pride” for this upcoming month of August. Diners can expect the local favourites such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab with Mantou and Bak Kut Teh with Yu Char Kueh. This also includes Nyonya Laksa and also traditional desserts such as Kaya Pandan Cake and Ice Kachang.




We had the chance to try these featured dishes during the tasting session. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was surprisingly good. The chicken meat is tender and the chilli complements well.

And their chilli crab sauce dipped with mantou is satisfying.
This is my first time trying Bak Kut Teh here and I find it comforting especially having it during cold days.
