[SG EATS] Bountiful Blessings & Splendid Feast at Royale Restaurant | Mercure Singapore Bugis
Come celebrating this Lunar New Year 2018 with Royale Restaurant at Mercure Singapore Bugis from 9 February to 2 March 2018. I was invited to food tasting recently to check out their bountiful Lunar New Year buffet feast priced from S$58.00++ per person.
Let me share with you some of the festive highlights from the buffet spread.
DIY Yu Sheng
Yu Sheng is a must-have dish in every CNY dishes. Diners can have DIY Yu Sheng here with the ready ingredients like crispy fish skin, crushed peanuts, carrot slices and many more. Here’s a picture of the ready-made Yu Sheng prepared by the staff for us.
Braised Fish Maw and Crabmeat Soup
The broth was tad thick and gooey but taste wise was rather bland for my preference. Nevertheless, the ingredients are quite generous.
Roasted Suckling Piglet
It has been a while since I last had roasted suckling piglet. It was crispy and sliced in bite-sized pieces for serving.
Charcoal BBQ Char Siew
It was simply addictive with subtle sweetness on the outer layer of the char siew. The charcoal BBQ char siew is made in-house by the chef.
Hong Kong Style Waxed Meat Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf
For carbs, check out the Hong Kong style waxed meat rice wrapped in lotus leaf. It is definitely a filling dish.
Singapore Chili Crab with Mini Mantou
The local favourite dish- Chili Crab is available with mini mantou served separately. Be sure to grab the mantou to dip with the chilli crab gravy!
Wok-Fried Crispy Cereal Prawns
For prawn lovers, check out the bouncy prawns coated with crispy cereals.
Chicken Bak Kwa
Bak Kwa is a must-have CNY snacks to have. The ones served here has a well-balanced of sweetness and barbecued taste.
Supreme Peanut Butter Layer Cake
Check out their supreme peanut butter layer cake at the dessert corner. This is perfect for peanut lovers.
Traditional Nian Gao
Don’t forget the traditional snack for the CNY. It would taste even better I can have it while it’s warm. The taste would be even better.
Osmanthus Jelly
Go for osmanthus jelly if you prefer dessert in lighter taste. I enjoyed this especially it helps to cleanse my palate after the buffet spread. It is something light to end the meal.
