[SG EATS] Elemen 元素 Trufflelicious Menu – Available At All Outlets
Elemen has always been innovative and fusing food from all around the world, and this time, with truffle. You can read the past Elemen post here. And this time round Felicia headed over to check out this 8-course menu in collaboration with Italian Chef Simone Ricci.
This 8-course menu is offering at S$42.80++ per pax and you get eight lips smacking truffle dishes. And I am talking about dishes where you can taste and smell elements of truffle in it, not those so-called truffle fries that taste like plain fries.
Starting off with The Appetizer, this is start off the party in a high way. On the first bite, the truffle hits you forcefully, and the hinge of sweetness will welcome your taste buds to the eight-course meal.
Fruit Salad with Black Truffle Mayonnaise and Balsamic Vinegar was next, and this scored points in the innovative section! It was my first time having black truffle mayonnaise, and this did not disappoint. The ratio of truffle to mayonnaise was very well balanced, and the portion of truffle was generous. Another point of innovation is the charcoal youtiao, yes, you read it right. Charcoal Youtiao. It’s incredible how the crunchy charcoal youtiao didn’t look our youtiao at all.
Ok by now, if you are not sure what Elemen is, it is a vegetarian place that offers meatless recipes and use of natural ingredients. So, the Braised Melon with Black Truffle Pate in Supreme Collagen Soup will make you question if you are really in a meatless place. This soup tastes like chicken soup, and I kid you not. If there were one thing that I was craving for in cold weather, this would be the dish that warms me up. Served with a Wanton skin stick, this dish will stir you towards amazement.
Next is the passionfruit sorbet. It isn’t a dessert if you are questioning on who serves desserts in the middle of the eight-course meal. This sorbet cleanses your palette and preps you for the rest of the course.
Moving on, I have always loved Elemen sweet and sour pork. Oh wait, I mean the Smokey Monkey Head Mushroom with Truffle Honey and Sour Sauce, this dish will be how I explain to my vegetarian friends how sweet and sour pork tastes like. I would actually like this dish with rice, or maybe because I need to eat rice.
On the topic of rice, the only carbohydrate heavy dish is the Stir Fried Yuzu Noodle with Porcini Black Truffle. Infused with yuzu flavour, this Japanese noodles is sprinkled with pomegranate and tossed in truffle oil. What took me by surprise was the pairing of pomegranate with truffle which turned out to be surprising.
Well, after eating such a dish, the White Truffle Coarse Salt Lemon with Sparkling Soda is here to quench your thirst. Well, the truffle taste for this wasn’t as strong compared to other dishes, which was ideal as drinking truffle wasn’t precisely thirst quenching.
Lastly, my favourite part of every course, DESSERTS.
Chocolate lava cake with Truffle Ice Cream. Yeap, it is not a vanilla ice cream, its truffle flavoured ice cream, and it was terrific. It is also my first time having truffle ice cream, and it surely did not disappoint with the lava cake.
With white truffle and an invited Chef from Italy, the party here at Elemen is a hit with all truffle fans. So, join the party before it ends on 31 October 2018. This menu is available at all three Elemen outlets.
