[SG EATS] Maru Dine & Bar At Icon Village | Tanjong Pagar
Maru Dine & Bar restaurant located in Icon Village offers fusion cuisine and wide range of alcohol drinks including draft beer, sake and many more. The restaurant is accessible via a short walking distance from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station. I had the chance to visit the restaurant with my friend courtesy of Chope.
The restaurant is very spacious with unique designed interior. The whole place has 80-seater, which can cater for private events as well.
The restaurant also revamped their menu a month ago so we got the chance to try some of their new dishes. Let’s get started with the dishes we tried that night.
Truffle Ikura Chawanmushi S$10.00++
It is the steamed egg with salmon roe and truffle on top beautifully served in the egg shell.
Beef Carpaccio S$24.00++
Seared slice beef with ponzu dressing, truffle and tobiko for appetizer.
Iberico Pork Loin Yaki S$20.00++
Next, we had this succulent grilled pork loin with barley miso paste. The pork loin tasted tender and goes well with the flavourful barley miso.
Kani Cream Korokke Uni No Se S$14.00++
Homemade creamy crab cream croquette with sea urchin (uni) topping and uni sauce. The creamy and thick crab cream croquette taste is so strong that I can’t really taste the uni on top. I would prefer both served separately though. Nevertheless, the crab cream croquette is tasty and filling.
Ipon Anago Sushi S$10.00++
Check out this flame seared sea eel beautifully placed on top of the sushi rice. Instead of unagi, they served anago that has a delicate and light flavour.
Maru Signature Roll S$22.00++
We enjoyed the sushi roll that includes soft shell crab, crab roe sauce, avocado and japanese cucumber. It is favourable fillings and suitable to order with a group of 3-4 people along with other ala carte dishes.
Truffle Beef Cube Don S$25.00++
Hearty flavourful garlic fried rice, stir fried beef cooked with red wine sauce and topped with onsen egg. This is also one of the hot selling don during lunch session.
The menu offers extensive ala-carte dishes to choose from. I would suggest coming in a group of 3-4 pax to try out the dishes here. And of course there are hits and misses I would say but the dishes are pretty attractive as well. It is also a place for a couple of cocktails or alcohol drinks after a day of work given the space of the restaurant.
