The Lobby Lounge at Intercontinental Singapore has recently launched their new Classic Afternoon Tea: Origins by InterContinental Singapore’s Executive Pastry Chef Ben Goh. This new afternoon tea is available from 1 August to 31 October from 2:00PM – 5:00PM. My sisters and I decided to check it out during one of the leisurely afternoon over the long weekend.


The Classic Afternoon Tea is showcased in multi-tiered stand that comes in sweet and savouries. For savouries, items including the crab meat with avocado, prawns on top of slice mantou and topped with caviar, hummus with masala spice and pita, smoked chicken with chicken floss and coleslaw sandwiched with charcoal bun, toasted baguette with wild mushroom cappuccino and white truffle cream, herb cream cheese finger sandwiches and cranberry lemon and English scones with strawberry jam, fig jam and clotted cream.


As for the sweet treats, items include the Peach Melba cheesecake, buttercream cake, linzer torte, kueh lapis, apple ginger chocolate praline, and chocolate lemongrass pineapple cake.

There is corner where guests get to enjoy unlimited yoghurt yuzu ice-cream and wild strawberry sherbet.Be sure to look out for it.

This whole classic afternoon tea is priced at S$78.00++ for two guests, inclusive of fine loose-leaf tea or coffee and unlimited ice-cream. Each guest is allowed to order 2 types of tea/ coffee for this pricing.




Alternatively, guests can go for S$108.00++ for two guests that comes with two flutes of Taittinger Brut Champagne, fine loose-leaf tea or coffee and unlimited ice-cream.

The servings are quite filling and we loved the presentation of the afternoon tea. Our favourites include apple ginger chocolate praline, wild mushroom soup and linzer torte. And of course don’t miss out the yoghurt yuzu ice-cream. We were very full after the session. Overall was pretty good with the price offered for two guests. It would be best to have more service staffs as we had difficulties getting their attention throughout the afternoon tea session.
